Thank you for your video. I feel sorry you have to deal with some of the not smart opinions below (I'm trying to be kind with my comment). All the best reviewers are confirming its great sound quality and outstanding price to performance ratio. But what do I know, some of the keyboard warriors below already know everything.
Well keyboard warrior we should leave them be :) . Sound quality wise I think it has a distinct sound of its own especially with compared to any delta sigma or chord dac. Is it better? I am more inclined to say depends on your preference. I did quite some prolong listening and compared with my Hugo TT, I don’t think it’s outright better but some qualities like its sound stage and overall atmosphere rendition is really good, though in some other parameter it’s kinda a preference
I just got my Harmony dac 4 days ago and i can say now it's one of the best experiences i've ever encountered in terms of the sound quality and SOUNDSTAGE, unfortunately i do not own similar priced dac. last thing i've tried is the Chord Mojo 2. this dac needs some serious burning-in after using it the first time. (Using Schiit Mjolnir 3 as my amp)
Today I. just tested the LaiV vs holo audio spring 3 LTE + purple fuse with my headphone HD800s and amp at local shop . I can say I still keeping my spring 3 after review
Laiv recently very popular most youtuber review it very positive some comments say even better the holo may or other. I planing to upgrade spring 3 KTE to holo May KTE if turn out good definitely I getting one I save alot. By the way good review
I have PS audio airlens streamer with I2S digital out. I want to know if the I2S is compatible with Harmony DAC. I know Harmony DAC has PIN options configurable, but not sure the PS audio PIN configuration is available.
I can almost 99.9% guarantee it will instantly work with your PS audio with no modifications needed because that's the gold standard of i2s configuration--and the one used by every Asian manufacturer I know, such as Cayin. If not, I can 100% guarantee one of the eight settings WILL work.
Seems that a group of people are promoting this dac while another ones are promoting the Cyan2. I'm kind of looking forward to your review about the two dacs.
From what I can tell, the only advantage the Cyan 2 has (other than price) is it has a single bit DSD decoder, but I don't think the main unit will match this one. This is more along the lines of the DSDAC by Cen. Grand and it's awesome internal components. Everything they put into this thing is state-of-the-art.
@@Scott-DJ cen grand has very pool measurements, yes good sound means some distortion, but not at the level of cen grand. I plan to use hqplayer for up sampling pcm to Dsd, for me the real comparison is dsd on cyan2 vs laiv dac. For the build, I don't really value that, could it be beautiful than a chip. Although with the same quality, I prefer the better looking one.
How can you do unboxing and first impressions in low light? You need plenty of light to appreciate the design beauty of this gear! You are not doing justice to the gear. Laiv should be unimpressed!
@@DistinctiveMusic 3 years warranty is pretty good. Comparable to other brands like Holo Audio and Chord. In SG here most items are 1 year warranty btw.
GM ☕️ I just picked up the Denafrips Ares 12-1 DAC …this is a more user friendly product… From my understanding, both Denafrips Ava this company have a good relationship. Denafrips house sound is awesome and this should be very close . Take Care.
@@ZPProductions The BS on its price tag... over 2K for $100 worth of components... the discrete R2R modules cost to make around $20... is like Fancy power cables. when a company take this approach, is just BS... Well guys, it’s really not about material cost but implemention. And at the minimum the construction is really good and really beats many devices at its price tag. The internal implementation maybe one day if golden sound measures it. Anyone can make a real cheap R2R but well implemented versions are rarely cheap. And then there’s manpower cost and other overheads…

yeah sound stage is intense here. the rest are pretty on par with stuff of its price

You should consider going to a forum to ask probably. Not so sure on that.

I wonder how this DAC compares with Denafrips Venus II DAC
Hmm I don’t know. At least maybe till I can get one to compare. You can follow headfi forum thread, there are some with denefrips to compare

I should have gotten white demo set for better contrast haha!
@@ZPProductionsThis is not the right answer 😢
The question is where to get one ?😅
I think their website should be able to
@@ZPProductions can't find them when I google search, sadly 😥

Way too poor warranty conditions!
