Я делаю проще - из пластиковой бутылочки от шампуня вырезаю нужной формы заготовки. Обтягиваю их тканью , склеиваю для верности и сшиваю невидимым швом по бочкам. Шнурок беру готовый или плету на диске. Теперь попробую делать шнур из ткани броши. Спасибо за идею!

I completely forgot about these fabric necklaces, my aunt was a seamstress dhe would make these for her outfits when she worked as a secretary then l started for my outfits. Im retired and my aunt passed away but what a memory. I have lots of fabric that can make to sell for a few dollars

Very nice! You could match the necklace to a skirt, and wear a contrasting blouse, for a nice outfit.
You can make a small round cover for button (half circle ) to push button inside .then you can stich the corners
