A hint for everyone reading this and - no offense - for the creator of the clip as well: this model is so freaking old, that if you were to search for "KDL-50EX645 6 blinks" you would have found direct information about this resistor, which would have saved time and some [incorrect] - again no offense - assumptions on what is what. Testing the high voltage feedback divider with a miltimeter for example is not a good idea. It can very easily trick you. This blown SMD 2.8 MOhm could have also been 3.5 MOhm and then testing around like shown in the video would not have caught it. Lastly, when you have two transformers and one is large and the other is small then it's not a matter of guessing, it's a certain fact that the high power one will be the larger and the smaller one will be for the low consumption standby power (of course one also needs to be able to tell between power transformers and separation transformers driving switching mosfets for high side and low side).
Thank you for taking time and writing extended reply. I appreciate any knowledge as I do not claims I'm professional in TV repair nor expert in SMPS but learning every time.
hi good day, my question is why still no 24volts after replacing 2.7k mega ohms resistor, then pause your video, when you come back again is present 24volts?what will you do sir? replacing whole board, or using remote control or what? my pleasure to your answer. thanks
Good job and good technical but man if it was me I would have just changed out the power board lol everything is plug and play why f around tracing transistors? Anyways good 1
Hey, i have a sony KDL 52nx800 and it gives me 6 blinks, i am trying to get help, can u help me repair the board? i can ship it to you, please reach back.
Well done. Suggest use a gel pen or sharpie, so your hand-written notes can be seen, and also hand draw a small summary to show the IC and where the resistor was connected. Probably not a smart TV so you need HDMI input before any channels etc will display.
Thank you for watching and suggestion ! I realized too late that my notes can be washed out, but usually I prepare a website page with details, it is in progress at the moment. This is is first get SmartTV but super lame and all soft is outdated :) So yeas not smart TV for sure.

Did you tested if your old resistor is actually burned ?
Could be something else.

Hello can you help me fix my sony tv its stuck at aging mode
Sony kdl-55w650d
Thank you for watching! Sorry but what is "aging mode" ?
that is interesting... 6 blinks usually indicates bad led backlights. but yours was just a resistor issue.!!!
I thought 6 blinks is a PSU issue.... need to find good spec for this. Thank you for commenting
