You're doing god's work with these how to do basic things in Marvel 3. I've been playing since vanilla and never even bothered to try to learn Magneto cause I thought he would be such tough execution. Willing to give it another go after watching this.
Thanks for saying, glad it's inspired you! A lot of things in Marvel just look harder than they are, it's just knowing 'that thing' that sometimes takes hours and hundreds of attempts to figure out by yourself isn't easy. So I like to include as much of that as I can in my vids 👌
lmfao as requested... @3:41 re: Airdashes into H - That's a human factor, takes longer to release a button and press again than it does to hit a diff button immediately after. The game's buffer is a diff thing..basically, the game has a 3F buffer window that can store inputs if the char can't act immediately, which can "store" a single action - ie if you press multiple things during this window, it can't queue them; rather your latest input(s) will overwrite the first. @7:28 re: Magneto stand H - The correct number for his startup here is 8F. @9:47 re: down-back airdashes .. I doubt this has anything to do with running away, because there is no standard. While there ARE a lot of chars with longer cancel windows on down-back airdash, there are very few who have similarly long cancel windows on airdash straight back, on the contrary there's even a couple of chars who can act *faster* after airdashing backwards. There's also a few chars who have longer cancel windows on diagonal airdashes in general - meaning applies to both down-back and down-*forward*. Marvel really does NOT have standard rules when it comes to numbers. @15:00~15:25 - I count 3 Hyper Gravs in both combos here(before drop). What's that they say about Marvel players and counting? re: HSD .. Max HSD reduces all hitstun values by 5 frames. You generally have the ground vs air differences correct, but you seem to have misinterpreted the timer-based aspect. Basically longer combos = more HSD, even if the number of hits is the same...hence why combos that use slower moves and/or delays cause more HSD. However, there's no hard limit on how long a combo can last, even without moves that ignore HSD; it depends on the frame data of the moves themselves. I don't know if the exact formula was ever found & posted somewhere. Also, "saying things off the top of your head" nice OS. PS - Do a Viper staircase. Kappa
See there we go. Though on the hsd thing i get it, just said it in the wrong order because I started talking about it off the cuff. Should have just said HSD it timer/frame based, but the more hits you add that are on airborne opponents vs grounded opponents advances the 'clock' or timer by 5x more if its on airborne chars. Ofc that also naturally implies slower combos can't get as many hits before things drop, but also just accounts for the need to be careful with HG loop reps if the combo starts with airborne hits.
Literally exactly what I needed, I have the first parts all down (xx into mag blast relaunch into flight series) up to going into the loop but the SJ buffer is still getting me, thanks so much for this!
Thanks for this. I knew I was going too slow just didn’t know why. I also, for some reason, didn’t realize that it’s S canceling the flight instead of manually entering flight again. Now I know I’ll be able to do these.
As someone with a lot of casual experience i am finally taking the plunge into learning actual combos and tech so i can play competitive and i just want to let you know your videos have been so helpful! Thank you for making videos like this!!!
Great in depth note should've added Nemisis since you can't hyper grav him show an alternative combo I know Milky does the S down air dash down instantly L S. Ray Ray does box dash MH but snaps when he plays Scamby tho
I did mention it in an earlier take but forgot this time. I'll add something to the description, cheers for the reminder. But yeah the MH version is the best for nemmy, but there's little point killing nemmy so the snap is best I agree.
@@DrFate-dd7ek I'm not 100% that if you install that you get the Vader costume, there's oddities with the way Mags alts work because of the patch capcom did to make sure the King Mags alt couldn't be used (which was fixed with Eternal Yoshi's colour slot update). I recommend you install Yoshi's colour slot update 1st, then the Halloween pack, that way you should get both king mags and Vader (I installed the Halloween pack 1st and then Yoshi's and ended up with neither costume lmao)
Do you play Magneto less in tournaments because of the online lag? Magneto Dorm is a classic match made in heaven, and you're one of the best Dorms in the game. You've definitely shown you have an open mind to still developing and exploring tech with the character, especially after the crazy rabbit hole you went down with the flame carpet relaunch.
Yeah I can play mags in UK tourney settings but for TNS I just can't even function lol I feel like I need to have mained him forever to do that. But yeah I love mag/dorm, just can't settle on a 3rd that I'm entirely happy with.
I've been playing mag for quite a while and I've always done sj up dash down forward for my grav loops but I've never noticed losing an iteration to the -1 frame per dash you were talking about is there a reason I should relearn sj up forward that I may have missed?
Sparty, I’m having difficultly trying to figure out how to use my assists because of my particular team. It’s wolv Frank and anchor mag. I can use whichever assist, just help me make it work
In the loops more as an ender , but I don’t know if it’s feasible due to their low attack hits, Wolvie is 4 hits and franks shopping cart is my best bet
@@rickyfigs5576 shopping cart I think you can get st.H + call cart, Hypergrav L, but not at max hitstun deterioration I don't think? If you want a Wolvy assist to extend with for Hypergrav loops the use Tornado Claw for the easiest time. At nearly any HSD you can end loops with SJ ADF j.HS, land, st.H+Tornado Claw, Hypergrav H, then finish however you want.
