Thank you!
Thank you❤
Thanks❤
thanks I'll copy this out!
mood boards do help a lot when you are stuck trying to draw someone or something 🙂
I make moodboards for bigger paintings, and I have themed moodboards to help me get in a creative headspace when I know I want to draw something, but can't visualize it!
Thank you so much for your comment. I'm trying to learn things. It's good tip 💙
@@SaraTepes that's great ✨
thank you for this video. You inspire me to learn and practice more❤
Knew it was Corpse Bride as soon as I saw the thumbnail, a classic 👌🏼
Am i the only one that thinks she has some likeness to michael jackson ?
It was my first thought as soon as I saw the thumbnail
Ahaha yes! I think is the tiny nose + eyebrows expression :)
I came here because i wanted to draw MJ more accurately LOL
they're both dead so we can let it pass hahahaha
I immediately thought that lol!
Omg I love the painting. She looks amazing!😍
I'm really bad at capturing the likeness of a real person but I don't think I'm bad at characters in cartoons. This is the perfect video for me thanks.
I stress so much painting portraits of real people; it's a lot harder to paint a likeness of a real person without looking too stiff or forced 😬
This looks amazing, Sara! I would definitely love to see more spooky-cute stuff from you. 😊 Btw, thanks to this all I can think about now is about drawing Emily as well 🤣
Yay that definitely encourages me to do it more! And you definitely should, she was so fun to paint
@@SaraTepes Yay! I probably will haha 😁
Such a good idea for a video! I believe you captured the essence of Emily while bringing her into the living realm, less in the animated or even clay realms! I would love to see you explore this idea even more from characters you have enjoyed for yourself! Maybe explore other animated or even video game characters. I can see you creating Link or Zelda of Hyrule! I look forward to watching your next video and I hope to see more of these kinds of videos where you explore your adaptations even more! Take care and have a lovely day!
That makes me so happy! I've avoided making fanart consistently since I don't want to only be known for it, but it does make me really calm and stress free. I definitely will be exploring it more :-)
Love the creepy color tones! Would love to see more dark/creepy art from you!
Yaaayyy I would love to make more spooky artwork!
Having followed you for a while, it's so cool to see how your technique has evolved
Ahh thank you! I try to both maximize efficiency and to learn new techniques hehehe

I love the spooky vibes! Amazing art as always, we need more Tim Burton characters in your style!
Eeeeekk thank you! I love painting spooky stuff; I used to do it a lot a couple years ago and want to get back into it a little but I'm scared that people won't like it!
Wow I was thinking about this I am so glad you made this video at the best moment! Also love your artwork its amazing
same i was just doing a sketch and was having a hard time making it look like the character, great timing Sara!

Ohh I love how you did The Corpse Bride 🦋 would love to see you so more Tim Burton characters!

The proportionate distances between features. Such as eyes being closer together or farther apart translated into the equivalent in the artstyle being used. Distinctive features. Ensuring a distinctive feature is highlighted. I personally avoid caricature (As it upsets me) but keeping in mind these features and ensuring they are shaped closer to the person. The emotion of the person. Can your style such as lighting or brushstrokes be made to feel like the person more. Such as softer for a cute or more calm/beautiful person vs harsher for a more rugged or harsh person. Using rough textures in the brushstrokes for a survivor or no nonsense person. Using softer airbrush and glowing highlights for a naïve or innocent person, etc.
We are all still learning and growing together on this art journey and often its not a conscious thought but a subconscious and instinctual decision an artist makes. If dong this I advise going by feel more than being overly analytical and 'overthinking' every decision.
I'd also say reference other artists work you admire and think about how/why they may have done things the way they did learn from them and apply to your own work.
Useful video, thanks.
This is so amazing could you do a video on what brushes you use on photoshop please
So beautiful 💜
SO LITTLE LAYERS OMG AMAZING

Stunning! I'm in love with this piece! Which brushes did you use?😍
Thank you! Charlie Bowater's free brush set omg !!!
@@SaraTepes Cool! Thank you so much!! 🥰💜
😥😥😥😥 that initial sketch makes me so uncomfortable lmao id feel like i was drawing without my glasses with that brush
I’ve never clicked faster
thanks for the tutorial, i think you should raise the Db of the dubbing
what do you use to screen record?
Love this vid😍 What kind of Photoshop brushes do u use?
Thank you! I used Charlie Bowater's free brush pack 😍
When your drawing the character try to break down the face and body/pose into shapes. It really helps.
Hello Sara! Thanks for sharing this video. As always very inspiring! I even have created a channel inspired on your work. I hope I get to be as talented as you!
Aww that's so kind! I will check it out; good luck with making videos!!
@@SaraTepes thank you so much!!!
Yaaaaaaas
where can I find the music in the background ? also she is very pretty
Misty Valley by Jerry Lacey 💕
You must know how to do it, from the first twenty seconds I knew who you were drawing and I’ve seen that movie once over a full year ago 👀
I thought likeness was something else but that's probably because I'm not a native English speaker lo l.. 😝 beautiful art as always! 🥰💜
Me, too... For some reason, I thought likeness referred specifically to drawing the features of real people.
I expected the tips would be about this subject (which I find really lacking around youtube). It's very difficult for me to have the likeness of real people come across in a stylized drawing.
But the video is great for what it is!
@@julianapegas2043 it's probably one of the few things I don't struggle with... Maybe I should make a video about it... 🤔
@@drassiodraws please do!
@@julianapegas2043 ok I will then! Thank you 🥰🥰
what brush did u pick??? ik its from 2017_sharing but which one lmao
It's from Charlie Bowater's free brush set!!
yEssSSS
Hello
yesds
Tbh when clicking this i wouldn't have thought it was Emily
Omg I am here first lol
Wouldn’t understand who the girl on the drawing is if it wasn’t said at the start. So ironic since it’s supposed to be a vid about likeness
noooo tim burten doesnt add any POC in his movies his excuse was that they don’t fit his aesthetic which is plain racist and it’s very important to incorporate POC into movies and shows
