Who Was Harald Hardrada? | The Last Viking Conqueror
Вставка
- Опубліковано 7 сер 2022
- Harald Hardrada raided lands as far apart as Denmark and Jerusalem, claimed three kingdoms as his own, and launched the last Viking invasion of England in 1066. He was born in Norway, but at different times he lived in exile, was a mercenary, and ruled there as a king. He fought for his family's honour, for wealth, and for what he saw as his birthright. Who was Harald Hardrada? The last great Viking conqueror.

What do you think: would William the Conqueror have lost at Hastings if Harald Hardrada hadn't softened up the Anglo-Saxons first?
Yes, I do believe so
What if William fought with Hardrada?
@@RaidenTheRipper950 They had the same goal, I can’t imagine it working unless they split the nation
Another masterpiece. Being British I knew of Harald’s involvement with England but was interested to hear of his life before 1066.
Great video.
I really enjoy that historical persona spotlight, that also gives a summary of the historical setting. What are you planning to do next?
Thanks. You certainly can't understand a person without understanding when and where they lived.
Not entirely sure yet, you'll have to wait and see!

@@LookBackHistory do you think that you could make an episode about Gustavus Adolphus the Great (The Lion from the North) and the Swedish Empire (Swedish: Stormaktstiden) or maybe just about the 30 years war and his role in it?
