  • This is short video to answer a frequently asked question about our Heliosure Shock Bleeder. Why does your shock bleeder only have one hose? Two hoses aren't necessary. What looks like a hose full of air is actually an empty hose after the vacuum pump has been running.

    Great demonstration!
    The only thing I'm not sure I fully grasp at the moment - how does the fill hose not self-fill with fluid at the beginning when you open up the plug to allow air enter the hose? At the first glance one would expect the fluid head pressure to fill the hose and expel fluid from the system. I suppose the only reason that doesn't happens is because the air volume "behind" the fluid is in a closed "system" and in such a result would create vacuum working on a large surface area of the fluid, not allowing it to escape, isn't it?

      Thank you. You are correct. Since the 3-way valve is closed, the oil does not drain out of the hose in the short time span. If the valve were to be opened, oil would rush out. This has accidentally happened in a non-video worthy moment.
