Hi Rich, It's been awhile Buddy. I just helped a friend last year with his canopy window. The one between the truck rear window and the canopy. It has the slider window. Anyway by the time I got there he had it out and seal removed. The issue was it was leaking into the truck bed? He bought a roll of 1/4" 3M double back tape to install on the inside of the seal. We got it on but the window wasn't going back in? I told him the seal was on backwards. The out seal on these to the weather side leg is longer. Plus the windows shape wasn't flat but concave so can only go in one way. He said let's just turn the window around and install it. It worked but i told him the window may fall out into the truck bed or still leak? He didn't seem to be worried about it. If it was my truck i would have made it right
Hi Tim 🙂 Yes, been a while. I would think that his seal will eventually leak. He should keep a close eye on it and if it does leak, you'll have to take it out and reseal. I didn't want a hardening sealer on my 4Runner because I might have to take it out again in another 19 years 😉. The original seal I'm told was something called dum-dum, a kind of caulk.
Thank you for the video sir
You're welcome. I'm glad I was able to help you
