Also!!! It may not be your shoes/heels. It can also be a type of foot pain that you'll experience. It may just heighten during these events, but also still be there during your day to day life. Some examples could be plantar fasciitis, osteoarthritis, etc. Nothing a little physical therapy can't fix. But this might be a good thing to look into as well.

Rem, I’m a plus size /wide footed girly too and I ALWAYS have anxiety about wearing heels. I’ve come to the point where I only wear heels now that I’ve tried and broken in and I always bring flats with me, no matter where I go. You’re totally not alone!

So I haven’t seen the original wicked and I just saw it in theaters last night and I totally agree with all of this! Cynthia was AMAZING and I didn’t realize she’s the singer for Stand Up from the Harriet movie. That song had me sobbing in the theater. I love her. I sooo wanted and sometimes look back and say jeesh I wish I had cute heel pictures for my wedding day , but I took my mental health and comfort over vanity . Remi, I'm right there with you. I cannot wear heels. It feels like someone is hitting my feet with a hammer. I will say I have Mortons Neuroma and I use the toe pads- they spread out your foot bones and are not huge like insoles where it makes the shoes tighter. I have managed a short time in heels with those and then switch to flats. Just start being the bedazzled sneaker girl! I support you ❤

I am 5'3'' and the same way with heels. Remi you should try on some pointed toe flats. Since we are shorter pointy toe just looks more flattering and elongating. There are some really pretty ones that are kinda meant for weddings but they would look so good for carpet events.

Remi have you tried platforms? As a wide foot bigger girlie they work the best for me. Definitely less pressure on your feet and easier to balance and walk in. ❤❤ Even just a small platform may help

I feel like Remi needs to try different heel shapes to see which ones will actually support you and give you the look you want without the pain. Try the smaller heel heights but not a stiletto/thin heel. Doing a chunky heel or one of the curved heels or even a wedge heel is something that distributes weight differently. Also something with a bit of a overall platform so it raises you up without putting all of your weight on your toes is also super helpful for me at least. I've also learned to not use those clear gel inserts... I agree with Remi for me those are painful as all get out. I prefer the foam versions of the inserts, those actually provide me some comfort and a little bit extra cushion.
I know nothing about Wicked but I am curious to watch it. I love Wizard of Oz and im an Ariana fan. So ill have to watch it eventually. Im so happy for you guys !! Remi I love your style. Next time find comfy beautiful shoes. You dont need to be in pain to be beautiful 🫂

As a wide foot, wide calf, heavy set girl…I would rather see you wear a pair of sparkly ankle boots/wedges with proper support than some thin strappy heels! Lead the way for others like us that struggle with heels and make the look conform TO YOU and make it your own style!
As an older Asian wide feet girlie, I have to say that you should stop torturing your feet, cause it could just lead to other problems. I used to wear heels all the time, then had a Morton's necromancer, several bouts of plantar fasciitis (which lasted months) and I have arthritis in the top of my left foot. I'm sure this is from squishing my feet into shies too narrow for me. If you need to wear heels, at rhe very least go with actual wide width shoes, and styles that don't squeeze across the wide part of your foot. Good luck!

Remi!!! Commenting on the vid bc I rly rly hope u see this! Usually I just listen to the pod on Spotify. I’m a wide foot girlie myself and can relate but I started wearing kitten sandal heels and I swear they’ve changed my life bc I can wear them all night long no problem and honestly I think they’re just as cute as any other heel but so comfy bc the wide part of the foot is free. I’ve got my pair off ASOS as they also do wide kitten sandal heels and they’ve oddly lasted years and are my go to. Your vulnerability is so admirable and brave. Thank you for being you! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I went to the premiere in my country and LOVED it. im not a big theater fan, but i love musicals. I think ariana did sooo good, and i love that she could make her life long dream to be glinda reality ❤ I think Cynthia did an amazing job and loved jonathan bailey. cant wait for the second part!
I am 5'3'' and the same way with heels. Remi you should try on some pointed toe flats. Since we are shorter pointy toe just looks more flattering and elongating. There are some really pretty ones that are kinda meant for weddings but they would look so good for carpet events.

REM! I feel the same way, i definitely agree with your bestie tho it’s definitely anxiety that makes it even worse. Try changing your perspective on it by maybe saying I’m no longer going to let this ruin anymore experiences for me, I’m going to conquer it by maybe taking some heel walking classes and doing some research on what heels you can wear with wider feet because you deserve to wear heels !!! I know if it wasn’t for the pain you would be a heel hoarder !! LOL but really though you deserve to never have to deal with this again !! Love you guys !!!

I literally dont own any boots because of my large calfs and my sister struggles with wide feet too! Definitely has nothing to due with your weight unfortunately its just genetics and how we were built. I do hope the industry still continues to change to be more inclusive in all aspects!
Remi have you tried platforms? As a wide foot bigger girlie they work the best for me. Definitely less pressure on your feet and easier to balance and walk in. ❤❤ Even just a small platform may help
💙💙Remi💙💙 Wear whatever youre comfortable in.. maybe have custom made shoes in neutral colors for any event. Or wear a long...dress and go in some comfy slippers 😂 id totally do that💙💙
*PRO* tip. I take advil right when I put on my heels to help with the inflammation and pain that I know will come- obviously not a complete cure but does help a lot

Seems like the theatre performance has been transferred. Yes, I think it a superb show. Not really a musicals gal. Went to the stage show in Manchester last year was brilliant 💜💜🎙🎧

Aww Rem! First of all your absolutely perfect just the way you are 🩷 the heel thing issue is for all shapes and sizes - I can nottttt do the heels either. I can’t walk in them well and it’s painful. I noticed that platforms are a comfortable way of getting around wearing high heels. And I’m a sneaker/sandal girl through and through 😅🩷 LOVE YOU!
I’ve never seen the wicked play BUT I’ve learned almost all of the songs because of the show Glee. I’ve watched glee maybe 6 times all the way through and it’s a show my mom and I love so much. I feel like Remi needs to try different heel shapes to see which ones will actually support you and give you the look you want without the pain. Try the smaller heel heights but not a stiletto/thin heel. Doing a chunky heel or one of the curved heels or even a wedge heel is something that distributes weight differently. Also something with a bit of a overall platform so it raises you up without putting all of your weight on your toes is also super helpful for me at least.
I've also learned to not use those clear gel inserts... I agree with Remi for me those are painful as all get out. I prefer the foam versions of the inserts, those actually provide me some comfort and a little bit extra cushion.
I know nothing about Wicked but I am curious to watch it. I love Wizard of Oz and im an Ariana fan. So ill have to watch it eventually. Im so happy for you guys !! Remi I love your style. Next time find comfy beautiful shoes. You dont need to be in pain to be beautiful 🫂

Remi, babe…don’t you EVER EVER wear shoes to a carpet again that you know will cause you so much pain and self-consciousness. We love and appreciate your EXPERIENCE and COMFORT so much more than you conforming to a certain “look/style”. As a wide foot, wide calf, heavy set girl…I would rather see you wear a pair of sparkly ankle boots/wedges with proper support than some thin strappy heels! Lead the way for others like us that struggle with heels and make the look conform TO YOU and make it your own style!
As an older Asian wide feet girlie, I have to say that you should stop torturing your feet, cause it could just lead to other problems. I used to wear heels all the time, then had a Morton's necromancer, several bouts of plantar fasciitis (which lasted months) and I have arthritis in the top of my left foot. I'm sure this is from squishing my feet into shies too narrow for me. If you need to wear heels, at rhe very least go with actual wide width shoes, and styles that don't squeeze across the wide part of your foot. Good luck!
