His original name was Claire, but after the incident on the Flying Pussyfoot he let the railway company assume that Dune's body (the white suit that he killed; the one wearing the conductor's uniform that he stole) was his body, thus letting them believe Claire Stanfield was dead. So he gave himself the new name Felix Walken. I still always call him Claire though.
I remember Claire mentioning that he left his old name in a scene with the Gandors at some point in the anime (although it was shown out of order, and rather early on). I know that it's more heavily emphasized in the light novel it's based off of, and the part with Dune is moreso implied than anything regardless of the medium.
@@WatchMan283 I know this comment is really old, but the source material isn't a manga, the manga came after the anime iirc. Baccano! is originally a light novel series, and it's fucking AMAZING. It has an official English translation which I HIGHLY recommend.
Absolute fucking badass. In a show full of badasses, Claire manages to stand out. I love how all these superpowered characters are all similarly fucking terrified of him even tho's he's just a mere human. He's like Batman. What a man.
A mere human? My friend, Claire is not a mere human. He is a god. Over 90+ years after this scene he's never had the elixir of life and STILL going on honeymoons with Chane and murdering people to death like nobodies business.
He’s actually the strongest assassin to the point he’s seen as a mythical being. The Rail Tracer. His fight with Ladd and his gang shows he’s virtually untouchable
I'm still not up to date with the light novels, but I can only recall him getting hurt at all just twice: the first time it was little more than a mere scratch, and the second time he was willingly handicapping himself and he proceeded to curbstomp the other side as soon as he got serious. Dude's a freaking force of nature.
I read this comment and immediately thought "Wait, people find this character 'weird' aka do not understand his motives/thought process? THAT'S NOT NORMAL???"
Now that I've been making my way through the novels over the last few years, I love that the anime added the one-sided conversation with the lollipop kid; a classic western media classic trope, which suits the anime. In the novels, there was no child by Claire as he talked to himself, but the anime went for a visual gag and I love it.
What'll it take for them to make another season? Yen Press has finally licensed the light novels in english. Do I have to buy those? 'Cos I will. I want season 2
As I'm reading the light novels (and squeal with excitement every time the next volume comes out), I want another season. I realize that there's so much more to add and I want to see my beloved characters again.
BlueMoonSamurai I know that there is much more story in the light novels, but do you not realize that a second season would completely desecrate everything that the show (show, not light novels) stood for?
I know that Felix/Claire/Vino is strong and all, but the fact that Graham was able to catch the giant wrench Felix threw at him is impressive too!!! Still think Felix could take also Shizuo, cause if you think about it, he owned a weaker version of him (Graham). I mean this guy can dodge bullets, so he would have no problems with dodging vending machines.....
***** the creator said that if shizuo and vino were to fight there would be no clear winner vino cant hurt him and shizuo cant hit him so itll be a stalemate.
You're right! I forgot how Shizuo dealt with bullets and daggers like nothing, but in physical force Claire is a hella strong too! I new he catches the giant wrench that Graham himself threw at him at that speed without having his hand ripped off! I think that's quite an impressive feat too, too bad that the fight in the novels was longer and more epic but wasn't fully animated........ Still the scene when the wrench is thrown here is so epic!!
If it were a test of physical strength, I'm sure Graham wins easily (the guy disassembles a car without it touching the ground!). Though Claire easily has the advantage in speed and agility.
+Student no.0 You should read the novel... Claire is a true beast. like freaking monster. even when it comes to pure strengh, he way way ahead of Graham. +classicslayer456 even if i acknowledge the word of god (Autor) about Baccano/Durara verse, i just dont get how it will be a stalemate, when i read the Novel, Claire is just too freaking good. he has ALL : Strenght, genius intellect, speed, etc..
Ludo045 shizuo vs vino strength: shizuo intellect: vino speed: vino but you have to remember that shizuo is also a bullet timer he dodged automatic assault rifles with ease. I'm just going by what the word of god said.
Lily Pacheco I’d say Shizuo has better durability, even though in the novels Specter has proved himself to be quite overpowered. Specter also has insane strength and reflexes, doing things like lifting and dismantling a car midair, catch bullets with his wrench or catch it while being hurled spinning at him by Claire himself. I’d still say Shizuo will win after a hard fought battle.....
I'm going to say Shizuo, because as much as I love Graham - he's strong and fast, but he doesn't dodge (he catches and deflects), he can't take a punch, and with Shizuo's absurd physical toughness I can't imagine a wrench swing would hurt him worse than it did Ladd. (...still don't know how Ladd survived that, personally, but those are the facts of the case.)
Nightwing can eat his heart out cuz Vino is Nightwing turned up to 100/10, Don't get me wrong I love Nightwing but Nightwing gets hit often and Vino just doesn't(comparison based on them being acrobats growing up and then changing careers, Nightwing to Vigilante and Vino decided to class change to Assassin)
I love how Vino just has the one sided conversation with the kid XD
He is a great character.
Lol
“Is he a good guy or a bad guy? I can’t tell.” That’s how I feel about at least 80% of the characters in this show.
Good or bad?
Try human.

In reality there’s no such thing as a perfect hero.
This wasn't a fight, it was a "who's the Bronxiest" competition. And Felix always wins those.
Sprocket Did he change his name in the manga or something? Because I dont remember him being called Felixn, but I hear others calling him that.

Batman just a rich kid with issues and too much time on his hands
vino has so much style and swag. I mean just look at the jacket he's wearing
Assassins LOVE trench coats.
This was the only moment that Graham actually made sense to me, the rest of the time he was just kinda spouting gibberish.

Angus Wallace they don't have one
What's the song that plays in this scene ?
Abikyoukan no Kurutta Butai
Is Graham William? My nephew William? Who's also Viral from Gurren Lagann?
Wait. So this whole time I was Pronouncing Chane Wrong! I thought it was Chan! (as in Chansey)
The only baccano characters I see capable of taking out Felix Walken at this point is Keith Gandor and the 1711 immortal Nile. Well I might be wrong.
