Winnipeg kind of did well having zero offseason additions. They’ve been running the same lines for forever and with new coaching have finally been able to make it work.
Keep em coming Gino. Great host and loving all your articles/posts/casts regarding the Jets. Getting Dregs and Button involved are bonuses. 2 of my favourites.
The idea the jets are like the leafs in the play offs is absurd. We have a great goalie, gritty oppressive hockey, and depth scoring, all of which the leafs normally lack, all of which are the main issues in the playoffs. The Jets fail in the playoffs for the exact same reasons they fail in the regular season, there's no big gap. Contrast that to the leafs who discover their regular season toolkit is useless in the playoffs. Anyone who understands the avs/jets should have known this was gonna be a 1 sided short series. It was always gonna end quickly, both are lethal to eachother. Mack/Makar can beat Hellybuyck. At that point it's whether or not the team can beat mack/makar before they get near bucky. Jets dominated in game 1. Game 2 the Avs pulled a whole new stradegy out of nowhere. They got whooped and all of a sudden the Jets are trying to rethink their entire game at high altitude.
Jets did not dominate game one, the Avs just made a LOT of mistakes and Georgiev was swiss cheese that game. This is coming from a huge Jets fan that was at that game.
@@EtopiaCAthey also didn’t get dominated the way everyone says in the next 4, they weren’t great, but Colorado scored almost all the goals off tipped/screened point shots
There should be no all-star break next season since its an Olympic year. It is bad enough the talent is watered down, but now teams are playing exhausted and not recovered, due to games so packed together.
Pretty easy fix for any temporary increase in games because of Olympics or other tournaments, allow expanded rosters for the duration of time period where added games may put pressure on any given lineup due to international tournaments.
I don’t know why these hockey analysts keep underrating them. Shows they actually don’t know much about hockey. Happened last year and this year too. They’re simply a good team and last year’s record should also show that - why is anything a surprise?
Its hilarious how all these pundits who were criticizing the Jets for "not doing anything" over the summer, are now fawning over their success. Like they really have a clue.
Get rid of the all star break on an Olympic year and that gives you back nearly a week in the schedule. move the all star weekend to after the season during the award season. The game could use a change for all star weekend anyways
NHL regular season game performance is irrelevant. The difference these banked points are going to make is to their playoff seeding, but that reward gioes only to the team that shows up in April, not the one in October. Ask the 2022-23 Bruins
leafs couldnt even beat the blues in 2 tries. the jets have only had 1 game where they won when they should have lost, thats a pretty good model of consistency. cant say the leafs are that consistent. maybe thats why the leafs have never won a conference championship.
Winnipeg being excellent and Nashville being terrible show how important team chemistry and pro scouting are rather than signing the expendables

Leafs have all that depth scoring not so much.

To me its obvious that the Jets have significantly more depth
Hasek would never have beaten Roy at his peak. Peak Roy > Hasek.
2002 Red Wings were also stacked.

Agreed…the only reason why they still have the allstar game is money which is ironic because everyone hates the allstar game
Go back to starting the season first week of Oct instead of waiting till the middle of the month. There is your extra 14 days. Problem solved
The fuel is that with Monahan, Toffoli, and Smidt exiting, all the deserved players got promotions they should have had last year.

What a dumb question......
Jet Fuel of course 😂😂😂
Good in the fall is a lot different than good in the spring

GoJetsGo!!!
Get rid of allstar game, shorten pre season
Just reduce the amount of game per season to 72-75. Money hungry owners...

Blah blah blah "regular season doesn't matter" it kinda does especially when it's a historic run!!
@@LGR910 Yes, there's nothing more satisfying and memorable than making regular season history. Pretty sure there's a parade.
Leafs beat them so I dont know lol
Lol they had 1 good period and half of the 2nd. Then the Jets just took over that game.
@katethomas1519 still lost
Leafs fans will grasp for anything to keep the hope of seeing the second round again going.

@ What scares me the most about the Jets is how they make everything look effortless.
