Salute to you gentlemen! I spent years in Iraq and as a SWAT officer kicking down doors with bad guys waiting. My balls are little acorns compared to you guys. That took real courage!
If anybody doesn’t know what that is, some tornadoes have these miniature tornadoes inside it that orbit it, formed by suction, they can be more intense then the actual tornado and add more then 100 mph in winds to it, you can see them in multi vortex tornadoes but sometimes they are hidden
The TIV resembles the Cockpit Module of a WW II B-17. I'm glad that I've FINALLY seen this video, in its PROPER context. TIV did take some nasty bashes, but protected all concerned, admirably. I wonder if the sponson cleats are powerful enough to pierce pavement, if needs be? They are part of the key to safety. So sorry, though about TIV's denouement in the quicksand-like dirt track, but, once extracted, she gets to roll once again, for many more intercepts yet to come!
@@orlandovega6958 Well yes. Part of that object likely struck the windshield. Or a separate object that doesn't show in the video struck it. The bottom line is that it was a reflection of the headlights, not a spark. The only sparks in this video are lightning.

@@johnsullivan937 It's not a spark. Whatever hit the windshield couldn't create such image. The video image appears to be an object directly in front of the headlights reflecting the headlight beams. And the wind in the video is not strong enough to drive a piece of gravel at a sufficient velocity to produce such. The video on UA-cam is too low-grade to analyze further. @@itsjustbrisk709 the cage on the window is a suggestion and a joke... I'm the one who made it, so if you want to direct your ignorance at anyone it would be me... What is your problem?
I'm surprised any of those trees/bushes were left standing. This is a great video that puts you right there in the middle of it.
This needs more views! The footage is incredible!!
My all time favorite tornado video..glad those guys made it through ok. I'm sure it was an intense experience.
Witam. Ale to są hardcory! :D Szacun za to, że odważyli się pokazać coś takiego. Pozdrowienia z Polski.
That tornado was trying SO hard to fuck them up, it's like looking into the face of death.
It's what tornado victims see and hear before they lose their lives, if they even survive that long.
This tornado was part of a huge tornado outbreak, on the year 2013.
Most of those tornadoes were strong EF3s, but I'm pretty sure that this was something more. Good job TIV2, you survived an EF4+.
I was honored to watch them on TLC (I think....I've slept since then 😄)......it was AMAZING to watch the concept of the TIV to the build to the actual testing!!!!! I remember them.......TRYING to catch a tornado and all the problems they had getting to said tornado with the TIV and they had ABSOLUTELY NO A/C and THAT would've KILLED me.......I don't do heat mixed with humidity NO THANK YOU!!!!😂 Anyway it was AMAZING to watch the trials and errors.....THEN came the TIV2 which was BETTER.....man it was an AMAZING RIDE and I miss them TERRIBLY!!!!!😢 I wish I could watch them again KNOWING they've got an even MORE IMPROVED TIV.......ah well I'm just glad I watched them from beginning to the end of their tv series!!!! THANK YOU GUYS for the AMAZING RIDE ya'll shared with us!!!!!!
Amazing. Up to that point, the people who had witnessed a tornado like that up close and personal didn't live to tell what they saw and heard.
5:12 The money shot for IMAX
Not to be morbid but that branch prob came in like a 120mm lol
Wow...thats all i can say. Im speechless. The inly REAL intercept every
This was an EF-4, for those who don't know.
Always wanted to see the aftermath of the intercept, glad this shows it.
I have never seen anything like that in my life! That was awesome! Best video I’ve seen yet on tornado chasing! You guys rock! 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
I wonder if they felt like they were going to die .what a mindblowing event. 😵💀
What would Reed Timmer do🤔🤣 he would have come out with muddy pants💩💩🤣 you would hear this deathenig scream over the tornado winds🤣
That is the TIV2. It was designed to withstand wind speeds up to 200mph. The wind speeds of this EF4 were licking right at 200mph. A tornado can't pick up, what it can't get under.
It was rated 220 from the side and 250 from the front
Fawkin Nutz!!!! Most extreme tornado footage ive seen!!!! Ive seen many vids but yours is the only one that shows the heart of the monster. Direct hit!!! Awsome and exhilarating.
Maniacs!! I love it. That was as exciting as going to another planet.
I was a huge fan of Discovery Channel storm chasers. Watched the whole thing dozens of times. It ended in 2011. Sean Casey's iMax film came out in 2012. This video was a 2013 intercept. So he continued chasing and filming even after he completed the movie? And the best intercept ever never even made it to a movie?
TIV is a beautiful peace of machinery, I wish I had a model of it lol.
Gosh only 115K view ! 😳
Well this is the most amazing video I've ever seen, terrifying, beautiful, exiting all at the same time ! 🤯😱😃
Thank you so much for posting this, i wondered if it was possible to go and filmed inside a tornado since I'm a child and just got my answer ! 😁 and I never imagine that a vehicule could be so strong, this is incredible 😯
Gonna show this incredible video to everybody, love it, thank you ! 😊
Good to know Herb got in a Tornado before he passed away! Good job Herb!!!!
Man I remember meeting sean casey in person and shaking his hand in 2011. I was only 4 at the time and sean was a huge influencer for me in meteorology. It's amazing to see videos of him intercepting. I also got to look inside of tiv 2 it was awesome
better than any amusement park ride lol
I've watched this same encounter on several different channels.
It doesn't get old.
Absolutely incredible, I remember the TIV from Storm Chasers back in the day. Getting into a high end EF-3/low end 4 is the most insane shot possible. I wonder what those guys are doing now, seems like they kinda disappeared afterwards.
An absolute tank for extreme weather
Reed Timmer is a BADASS!.. But I think yall took the cake on this day. Love yall both.. but great job guys. Brandon and Sean, and everyone else in the vehicle.. forgot the names, apologize. Great TEAM intercept!
Humans are something else man. For all the bad traits we have - we fucking go INTO TORNADOS just to learn and experience that shit and maybe help humanity in the future. One small step for man...
And there you have conclusive evidence that it is very, very dangerous inside a tornado, I think we already knew that, what did you accomplish other than to do great video
I'm not part of the storm chaser team, i'm just a tornado fanboy and when i found the original videos i realized that the audio and video wasn't mixed very well, so i decided to make my own mix taking the best of them to improve the experience and share it with all youtube audience. In the credits you can get the details about the experience, the original team members and their contact ways. This wouldn't be posible without them.
@@Fer1375 very well said. Not sure of Dwayne's point anyway..
@@kimr7677 Thank you mate!
This guys are amazing. Very courage and determination. Congratulations
This was near Lebanon, KS just off of state hi-way 36, around 12 miles east of Smith Center, pretty good size city. About halfway from Kansas City, KS west to the Colorado state line. Maybe they will put a marker there, I think that would be cool!
Thank you for the details Jim!. Yeah, probably
As amazing as you all are, and as incredible as the TIV is, I wonder why no one wears helmets. You were lucky this time. If it were me, I would strap myself in with a mouth guard, helmet, and strap foam pool noodles to every limb 👌👌👌😜😜😜
Pool noodles 🤣
AMAZING, I WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN IN THERE..GLAD YOU ALL IS ALIVE..😁🙃😜🤪
Shame they didn't get footage like this on Discoverys' Storm Chasers series. Glad to see he finally gets inside a tornado like he said he wanted on the show. Where can I see his IMAX film which he was making in the documentary?
Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!! What an accomplishment !!!!!! I bend a knee. Great job guys.
After the storm was gone, it was just as quiet, like nothing happened. Wow!😲
Salute to you gentlemen! I spent years in Iraq and as a SWAT officer kicking down doors with bad guys waiting. My balls are little acorns compared to you guys. That took real courage!
You are a crooked war criminal.
Scientific conclusion:
Stuff flies real fast.
Thank god for these men!
That was awesome. Thanks for posting 👌
absolutely awesome video
That must have felt amazing to get an intercept like that!
5:43 I think that was a suction vortex that hit the tiv judging by the direction of the inflow and how strong the winds followed it
If anybody doesn’t know what that is, some tornadoes have these miniature tornadoes inside it that orbit it, formed by suction, they can be more intense then the actual tornado and add more then 100 mph in winds to it, you can see them in multi vortex tornadoes but sometimes they are hidden
They usually are seen as cycloid all ground scouring marks all over of some damage paths of violent tornadoes
How awesome to experience the fury and power of mother nature
The TIV resembles the Cockpit Module of a WW II B-17. I'm glad that I've FINALLY seen this video, in its PROPER context. TIV did take some nasty bashes, but protected all concerned, admirably. I wonder if the sponson cleats are powerful enough to pierce pavement, if needs be? They are part of the key to safety. So sorry, though about TIV's denouement in the quicksand-like dirt track, but, once extracted, she gets to roll once again, for many more intercepts yet to come!
You don't get rides in theme parks like that! Wow! Amazing.
You guys are just the baddest great video
this video is the reason why i want to be a storm chaser
Thank you so much to this video... Good job...
That's crazy, to see something fly by the windshield and Spark flash across window!! Be careful out there!
You can see it's not a spark. It's a white or silvery piece of structural material flying past just immediately in front of the headlights.
Definitely a spark. So that light left a scratch on the windshield? Exact spot 🥴
@@orlandovega6958 Well yes. Part of that object likely struck the windshield. Or a separate object that doesn't show in the video struck it. The bottom line is that it was a reflection of the headlights, not a spark. The only sparks in this video are lightning.
@@davidsul7052 dude that's clearly a spark, how could a piece of debris fly in front of the headlights to get lit up, and hit the front windshield at the same time? they would have to have headlights facing outwards from inside the cabin... which they dont. Why do people always have to argue over the stupidest shit
@@johnsullivan937 It's not a spark. Whatever hit the windshield couldn't create such image. The video image appears to be an object directly in front of the headlights reflecting the headlight beams. Metal hitting rock or vice versa produces incandescent molten embers, not sparks. And the image is too large to be a molten ember. And the wind in the video is not strong enough to drive a piece of gravel at a sufficient velocity to produce such. The video on UA-cam is too low-grade to analyze further. And calling it a spark is like someone unfamiliar with their appearance calling a distant bird or distant flock of birds a UFO. Sparks are electrical arcs. Lightning is a spark. Or are you the troll or troll-bot using a different user-name who attacked my comments on that other thread?
Incredible!! Wow 😮
Armored car or not I still would of been scared beyond words could express & probably puked. Amazing footage. You guys are heroes in my opinon
TIV 2 is one of my favorite storm chaser vehicle
The winds got measured around 180 mph when the tornado hit them
It was so strong it destroyed the anemometer , which measured the windspeeds just after that measurement was taken
Looks a lot more solid than the original version they had for the storm chaser series
You guys barely held it together this time!
You definitely wouldn't want to be in the center of a monster, 1 mile wide F5 ! I'm happy to see that everybody made it out safe!
At approximately 5:41 you can see the wicked witch of the east fly over their vehicle.
Oh man true true true!
That’s some amazing stuff there!
