Why are people dissing on the drummer? My comment was going to be how awesome I thought he was - he packs a lot of power and a lot of groove at the same time. He's badass.
Doom is mood and atmosphere. you can keep your fast stuff. if you cant play a slow song convincingly, go back and learn about Black Sabbath, Blue Cheer, Pentagram and Trouble. If by then you still cant respect the power of the riff, you have no place in heavy music.
It's not about speed. It's about the quality of the riffs and the intrigue of the arrangements and the vocal melody and delivery. Eric Wagner and Trouble are gods of doom. These clowns are a fucking joke.

Man, doom is just starting to get big... but I wonder if a lot of newcomers will "get it" or just be awed that metal can be played at a different speed besides "blindingly fast".
