Today, I explored forgotten and abandoned video games to see the current state they are in. I also went over the brief history of their games to determine why their player counts dropped to 0. Most of these games are on Steam so check them out if you ever feel like exploring them yourself. - Ігри

They have those preset nicknames in Wizard101 and Pirate101 to prevent people from naming themselves naughty or weird stuff. That didn’t stop me from naming my Wizard101 character “Taylor Swift Stalker” lmao
You can still make some fun names by being crreative which is nice.

Multiversus wasn't meant to be a fully released game, it was meant to be a demo/early access. They weren't, at all, expecting the player numbers they got but they got it anyways and that presented some problems.
Which partly explains the server and technical issues, but I think the far more important reason it failed was because of Warnerbros. The devs had what was essentially an untested beta go live with a bunch of people playing it for free. Warnerbros didn't like that, they wanted to see a return on investment, and forced the devs to make Multi profitable. This means most of the development time was spent trying to cash-in on the splash success.
The new release, which should be later this month, I imagine will probably be pretty good. Now that they know what to expect and aren't releasing an unfinished prototype.
I grew up playing wizard101 with my mom when it first came out and to this day she still plays from time to time. She's been saying how much the game has gone downhill and how if she wasn't so invested she would quit. One of her biggest complaints is how the pvp got destroyed and how difficult the new worlds are. They're basically impossible to beat without a full team of well researched players. Along with that the Crown Shop is atrocious, basically recolored and repurposed assets from all over the game, and dont even get me started on the mounts you can buy that arent even permanent, theyre virtual rentals lol I have a lot of good memories from Wizard101 and it sucks to see how the company doesnt love the game as much as its actual players do.
Honestly I'd love to hear more on Ratbeard.
But I would also like to toss 2 games in if you ever make a part 2 to this video that being "Puzzle Pirates" and "ToonTown Rewritten"

@@shteve.mp4 It was such a good game omg. It was another Disney online game, original shut down in 2013 (from what I remember) then Rewritten came a few years later.
Genuinely refreshing to see someone mention W101 and talk about actual reasons outside of it just being old. I'd still say my least favorite part of it is the fact that you basically can't be a F2P player on it if you plan on having any fun with the TCG feel of the high level gameplay. Game has probably the worst demo ever, while also having one of my favorite combat systems and my absolute favorite housing system. I love that you can just place furniture literally anywhere and that KingsIsle straight up embraced some of the bugs people used to use for getting out of bounds. Too bad I just can't recommend the game to anyone since it's just not worth the grinds and membership imo
That's not the full story for the reason the club penguin private servers were shut down. They were shut down due to one of the private servers having allegations of the owners being child predators and using the game to get into contact with children for very illegal purposes. Disney obviously didn't want that type of stuff plaguing their IP, so shut down pretty much all private servers.
It's been a bit since I've heard the full story so I can't remember exact details, but there are plenty of videos talking about it in depth

I am really hoping that for the full release of Multiverses they don’t make the same mistakes they made during the beta. I really enjoyed it during beta and like having an alternative to smash.
I miss w101, my brother and I spent all of our money on the game. We used to buy areas and it got to the point where the $20 gift cards wouldn’t unlock an area anymore, so I stopped. I had the frontier dragon mount which I heard is super rare now. Idk the password and the email is gone. I’d love to be able play one more time.

You did multiversus dirty bro, the bugs bunny rocket going twice wasnt even a intended mechanic it was bugged in a early access game, and you can actually still download and play offline and local multiplayer i personally didnt find the movesets annoying and the only thing i agree is that there was nothing to do but wipe casuals a ranked system wouldve been nice but again, early access game, pretty sure theyve even redone the netcode completely from scratch for the people with 2mbs download speed still complaining about lag
plus the fact the game hasnt even been released, no shit noones playing it, cause they cant lmao; and the lack of content cant be an issue since it was in beta, like no shit there wasnt everything in the game yet. watch when it releases in a couple days itll have heaps of players

I did play both Wisared 101 and. Priative 101. It got boring, and you are locked out, which you can see why I lost interest.
