  • Franklin Falls is one of the more popular recreation destinations in the state, and is the second most well-known waterfall on the Snoqualmie River. Situated in between the eastbound and westbound lanes of Interstate 90, the falls can be accessed anytime the highway is open. It just takes a little more work in winter, but that doesn't stop many.
In winter, the 2-mile round-trip hike to Franklin Falls on the Franklin Falls Trail becomes a delightful snowshoe through deep forest. This is supplanted by a 4 mile stroll along FS-58. This isn't the most exciting trek, but nothing is perfect.
This winter is the first winter where the state has plowed a proper parking area for people to park their cars and not get stuck in the snow. This new Sno-Park now requires a Sno-Park pass of some description to park at.
