The Matter/Antimatter problem was always weird to me. But that's because I assume that all the matter and anti-matter DID annihilate each other, cause the universe to become extremely hot, and then had all the energy "cool" into matter.

One thing not considered in this thought is the concept that there are some (if not many) dimensions that we can not observe directly. I would hypothesize that these dimensions interact with our observable ones in a way that would explain the whole AND make it all ultimately symmetrical even if it doesn't seem like it to us. A simple way to think of it is like going through a "house of mirrors". If you think of all the ways that observation can be distorted and combine that with the strange things that happen at the quantum level, you might have a good start. After all this is what lawyers and politicians get paid for... isn't it?
There's a theory out there that states most of the antimatter created in the big bang immediately spawned a second, mirror universe that has C P and T all reversed, and evolving backwards on the negative timescale (the epoch before the big bang). This immediately solves two nagging problems with the other theories. 1. the asymmetry problem, and 2. The matter anti-matter imbalance. 3. because the two universes are temporally seperated, all the particles created on both sides immediately turn from virtual particles into real particles which should not happen if all matter and antimatter was created out of absolutely nothing, into one universe. Neil Turok and Roger Penrose are supporters of this idea and have spent many hours in the think tank about this possibility: www.bbc.com/future/article/20200117-what-if-the-universe-has-no-end Seems to me this is way more likely to be true, than the inflation theory by Alan Guth which is quite messy. That said, Alan Guth is a brilliant man and his theories have much credit, also by me.
