thank you for your great videos. I have 1999 323i with 163000 miles since 2006. In near future I'm planning to remove the front and rear carpet included the airbags. 2 years ago I already removed the A/C system. I live in Seattle area I don't think I need the A/C. I also deleted the A/C system from my 1997 BMW Z3 2.8 road star. with 297000 miles. Thank you.
Nice video, what about removing the AC condensor and its fan? Interior also has evaporator and the heater core and blower fan amongst other HVAC venting, but your probably doing the interior stuff in another video.
Thanks for the comment. The condenser and evaporater usually don't weigh much, so I'll worry about those later. But the car will eventually get a full HVAC delete.
Hello following the removal of my air conditioning on my e46 The fan remains on continuously Is it possible to have the original operation? I've located the wires of the air conditioning sensor that triggers it.
is the electric fan still working? because I don't have coolant in the system and no longer works, if I remove the pressure sensor it's going to 100% and if I remove the compressor belt no longer works again
Excellent and to the point! Curious what is required after this to make the accessory belt and remaining pulleys function again? Are you just rerouting and running a shorter belt? Thanks
@@michaelblacktree I see that now. I have an E82 1 series N51 that ties in the A/C compressor with the main belt. Going to make the delete much more difficult I expect.
Yeah, that might complicate things a bit. You could try wrapping a piece of cord around the pulleys, and measure the length. Remember to subtract a little, to account for the tensioner. See if the auto parts store has a belt in that length. Bring the old one, so they can see how wide it is.
So I have a question for you if I remove this so I can get access to my catalytic converter can I still drive the car without any problem until I decide to put it back on
If you do that, you'll need to cap off the lines to keep debris out. And when you reinstall everything, you'll need to draw a vacuum to remove the air and moisture.
In case of N42 engine there are a shorter belt to do this work? N42 engine have one only belt to connect crankshaft, waterpump, alternatore and ac compressor, thanks, Great video 👌🏼👍🏼
@@michaelblacktree no way I had new fan shroud and viscous put in like 2 years ago you reckon I should just switch it up to a electric fan am in UK btw
Hi mate I thought I let you know it wasn't my viscous fan it was the aux fan. In front now I have taken that out and the vicious fan and put in an electric fan in but that electric fan stays on but when car switched off it turns off that normal ??
On hell of a video, followed your steps quick . I would recommend to remove the right headlight to access the dryer bolts with more ease. Great informative video by the way🤟🏼
@ 5:02 I forgot to mention the bolts for the receiver/dryer take a 10mm socket. My bad.
U don’t understand I’m taking it apart to GET the 10mm’s 🤣
That's interesting.

is there no need to block off the two line connection ports that are in the side of the block? above where the ac bracket sits
Amazing video, I'm doing this next in order to connect my intercooler piping to my top mounted turbo

I've located the wires of the air conditioning sensor that triggers it.
That's strange. I didn't have that problem.

The A/C uses a separate belt. So the rest of the belt-driven stuff is not affected.

This is if the ac compressor is stuck or seized and you not tryna buy a new one yet ? Could I do this
This is if you're building a race car, and want to reduce weight.
@@michaelblacktree or turbo charging... sigh
People say you can keep the A/C if you use a bottom mount turbo. But I haven't tried it.
@@michaelblacktree yes its possible to keep your A/C when you opt for a bottom mount. But I've already committed to a top mount set up

@@michaelblacktree thank you so much
no problem👍
Hi Michael, I have a question. What about the two holes left in the radiator? Would that be a problem?
I think you mean the condenser core. I left it unconnected, because I planned to remove it also. (I did that later)
Which belt did you install after?
The A/C uses a separate belt. So no need to worry about that.

you also need to remove the evaporator core with valve and condenser.
That's true. I didn't do that for this video, because of time constraints. But I eventually did remove the evaporator and condenser.
Great Video 👍 Exactly what I was looking for
thanks!
Man i did the ac delete on my m54 e46 nownthe fans loud 😂😂 any idea suggestion
which fan?
@@michaelblacktree the viscous fan it's really loud car sounds like a jet plane
Normally, that means the viscous clutch is going bad.

my cars fan stays running super fast all the time after i removed the AC. Can someone please help me figure this out
You could try a web forum, like BimmerForums or E46Fanatics. They should be able to help you out.
I have the same problem, have you ever figured out a solution?
