@@renahime_ A better way to look at it might be that Joy is jealously guarding them. Rather than trust sending them up, she has to keep hold of them to tightly protect them. She also needs to get herself back up to the tower.
Well if they did that and anger fear and disgust found them and put them back and re-form the islands of personality, wouldn't really have a good plot twist and instead Pixar went the long way. But more fun too.
Oh, thank Heaven, I thought I was the only person on Earth who had a relative that watched The Matrix (without headphones!) every single day for fifteen years.
While Riley may now only remember President Taft for being "The fat one," I will remember him as the president who lost his friend in the _Titanic_ disaster: President Taft's military aide, Archibald Butt (Stop giggling) perished in the sinking, and the president never got closure regarding his death, as Butt's body was never recovered. "Nothing comes back from the dump." *Me in hindsight:* Oh, I don't think so. It's safe to assume that the reason Joy didn't think to send the Core Memories up through the recall tube was because of her protectiveness of them. On a final note, when the Forgetters' version of a prank call finally arrives at Headquarters, Disgust is filing her nails. I've checked the character models, and I have to ask a question that could turn into a discussion: Do emotions even _have_ nails?
Their are Two individuals in the Memory Dump: Remembrance and Forgetfulness. The reason why memories fade in the Memory Dump is all because of Forgetfulness. Forgetfulness lives in the dump, and has full sway of wether memories are left to fade, or they are taken to the Deep Memory Storage below Headquarter Tower. Forgetfulness, just like his home, is usually very Grey and gloomy, and often very quiet. His home is near Deep Storage, at the Deepest and Darkest part of the memory dump, so deep down that you can walk on the very bottom of Riley’s mind, and it’s there where Riley’s most Important and most valuable memories are stored; The Deep Storage, home to Remembrance. Remembrance is the opposite of Forgetfulness. When Riley remembers something she has forgotten, Remembrance revives that memory and sends it back up to either long term, or even HQ. Remembrance is also opposite than Forgetfulness because she is outgoing, colorful, and quite chatty. Forgetfulness and Remembrance live alone together, down below at the very bottom of the memory dump, down in Deep Storage below Headquarters Tower. The memories stored in Deep Storage are the memories Riley will remember when her time of living is coming to an end. Forgetfulness often complains about how their are no workers in the Memory Dump to help him. Remembrance comforts him, but still, it’s just them two, alone down in the dark, with Forgetfulness blending in to his surroundings, and Remembrance stands out with shiny light.
So they can just send this memory up through the wall, why isn’t joy just sending the important memories up there like this?!
plot hole 👀

The fact that Pixar made Trident gum commercials in the early 90’s makes this even funnier!
Pixar: remember those gum commercials we made, god those were annoying.

I think we all have a 'gum commercial' memory.

This is a funny running gag, but I don't understand something. If this is a happy memory for Riley, then why is Anger angered by it?
