Difficult to decide if the IRA are pro Brexit or anti Brexit. This current activity show two things:
1) the IRA never put their weapons beyond reach, meaning they did not honour the GFA.
2) they still have not worked out that to achieve their ambition of reunification, they must convince the people of NI to vote for it and blowing up police cars is not going to further its cause one jot. It is more likely to make the EU less supportive of reunification as the last thing they want is to import a group of terrorists and criminals.
So much for the good Friday agreement, but this has been going on for years. It was going on in 2007, just kept out of the news to give the perception that there was stability. PIRA and CIRA are very much active and have been for years, so the backstop argument is pants.
