The conquest of the Incas (3/3): The Incas of Vilcabamba

After the military defeat of the Quiteño Incas in Cusco and Quito, Francisco Pizarro and Diego de Almagro would begin the process of colonization of the ancient empire. This would put them against each other for the domination of the new lands and would lay the foundations of the civil war between the conquistadors that will take place in the Viceroyalty of Peru. In the midst of all this, the Inca factions that allied with the Spaniards to defeat the atahualpistas would realize that the true intentions of the foreigners were to subjugate the natives, so, led by Manco Inca II, who had been crowned by Pizarro, they would undertake a fierce resistance that would last approximately 40 years.
