The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows, the new studio album, released by new label home Transgressive Records.
Originally intended as an orchestral piece inspired by the landscapes of Iceland, this last year has seen a return to the music in lockdown and develop the work to 11 tracks. Further exploring themes of fragility, loss, emergence and rebirth.

Just saw Damon's show in Reykjavik and this was a surprise favorite. He was bouncing around at the piano and seemingly having a great time playing it.

I pray he plays this live - the sound is outstanding. All the instruments stirring, readying themselves, swelling like a balloon before bursting into this great multilayered sound. Like cogs in a machine, slowly moving toward a cliff’s edge before plummeting into the sea. The sudden stillness, the song almost underwater. I imagine the sea view at Damon’s Iceland home. That sound at 2:36 is just incredible. Beautiful, yet so sad. It’s dying, drowning almost. I don’t know. The shift at the end, how it plateaus, fades. It just reminds me of loss… Combustion is definitely one of the best tracks on the album. Thank you, Damon. It’s nothing short of a masterpiece.

Entiendo esta obra como un repaso por la vida de Damon (aunque podría ser cualquier persona)
Cómo pasa del caos, un ruido absoluto ordenándose progresivamente lo interpretó como el aprendizaje en la vida de cada persona.
Al final el piano representa La Paz, la estabilidad mental y las guitarras distorsionadas son nuestra sombra, nuestros problemas, nuestro caos mental. Creo que Damon se refiere a que el ruido nunca se va... a veces por momentos desaparece pero siempre vuelve. Convivir con el sanamente. Por eso predomina el piano que lleva una melodía pacífica y serena.
Y mi conclusión es que quiero que el día que me toque irme sea en ese instante que las guitarras distorsionadas se apaguen
