Have you seen Cabaret? Is the West Mezzanine which is cheaper, worth the discount? I have read enough though it is in the round, the cast still faces the other direction more.
Thank you Katharine! 👏👏👏This was such an excellent and enjoyable video -- from both the content and the "performance" angles. I can certainly see why you would do well in theater -- you should consider being an audiobook reader too! :). I really appreciate you sharing your insider's knowledge. I've been a theater fan all my life but saw most of the shows in Washington, D.C. (I've seen shows on Broadway but I wasn't the one buying the tickets.) So now it's my chance to purchase tickets to a Broadway show, but it can be a bit daunting to figure out how to get the best seat & price. So your video meets a real need. One quick question: What's the best way to get a copy of the info you displayed periodically on the video? Thanks again!😀
I'm coming to new York in February I would love to see Hamilton but the tickets are just so so expensive - would you recommend just purchasing the chepest (nose bleaders) in advance just to be able to see the show??
Oof, for Hamilton it's tricky. Check TodayTix to see if it saves you any $$, but otherwise, yeah, I'd say probably buy in advance. That SAID February is definitely slower, so you could gamble, try to save on fees, and check box office or TKTS day of!!
Of course! Ooh -- I would definitely buy in person to save on fees if it looks like there are ample seats avail for the show you're wanting to see. Otherwise, I can't think of other resources ATM--maybe TodayTix?
Thank you for the information! I have two questions. First, what advice do you have for last minute ticketing? I’m wondering if they remove tickets from the official online inventory on the day of show, and offer them exclusively through TKTS? I have a trip planned where my flight lands on a Friday late afternoon and I’m hoping to catch a show upon landing, but I don’t want to buy the tickets until I’m sure I’ll be there in time. I’m trying to strategize how and when to buy tickets in that scenario. My other question is - are there ways to access discounts for teachers? Not specifically arts teachers, but just teacher discounts in general. Thank you!
You can definitely still catch great last minute tickets at the box office! (Particularly this time of year) That would definitely be my advice here. Oh, and I wish I knew specific programs for teachers--we definitely *should* have some, though I don't know of any off the top of my head that currently exist.
thank you for the breakdown Good information but I think you should add in that if you're going to buy tickets at the box office in advance to save a few dollars you calculate transportation cost like are you paying for the Metro train or commuter trains or God forbid driving going back and forth May cost you more than just purchasing it online should
Great video! Can you define when peak, seasonal, off peak on Broadway is? Also what's a good plan to have for a Saturday night show? Is there a good restaurant to visit before hand? Or maybe a late night spot to visit after the show? I'm not too familiar with the Theater district. Thank you for this video.
Honestly, I think of it like school schedules--if kids are off school (Christmas holidays, Thanksgiving, Spring break)--it's peak! And re: restaurant, there are TONS of options in the area. Make your way to 9th avenue for actually good food--I try not to stray too far east towards Times Square :)
Hi there! Would you be willing to recommend a show that our fam of 4 would love? 22y/o boy and husband are waaaay more into sports…but I know there are things they’d love. My daughter and I have already seen Lion King, Jersey boys and Book of Mormon
Thanks for your tips. We are coming to NYC mid March. What do you think the chances to get 4 tickets to Aladdin, Lion King or Michael Jackson for cheap on Sunday or Monday?
Hi,I'm going to New York City in march. So,i want to know how to distinguish the correct site for booking from fake one. Please tell me how or official sote.
Hi Katherine, I’m so glad I found you. Your channel combines 2 of my loves; New York & The Theatre. I hope to return next year for a visit. Will be watching your content closely.
Hey! I'd probably try TKTS if you're going off season, or just go to the box office if it's high season. That's a trickier one, since it sells really well!
You actually can't always get a single seat for Hamilton, even if they have them. They will not break up any pairs, so if all there are available are pairs throughout the house, even though there are those seats available, they will not sell them to a single person. Not every house is like that, but Hamilton is.
I just did same day rush for The Great Gatsby and got orchestra close to the front... for $40 ... very lucky.. but yes it works :)
YES, I did notebook and got a front row seat, full view, for only $50. John Cardoza and Jordan Tyson had an ENTIRE song right in front of our seats
@ love that! Thanks for sharing this with others!

What show are you most excited to get tix for this season?

Maybe see it on Tour. That’s what I’m doing. Just weeks away now. Finally !! Lots cheaper & I got a primo seat !!
Katherine thanks so much, great tips. Any advice for Radio City Music Hall?

True! Valid point.

@@itskatharinequinn thank you so much! You are appreciated
There are other ways to obtain a TDF membership. Retirees, teachers, seniors and others qualify. Definitely worth joining.
Did TDF close the location Downtown at the seaport? That's where I use to get my tix because no one knew about it.
Yeah, it was a panini casualty sadly :(
Is the mezzanine on the first couple rows a good seat?? Great video
Those are considered premium seats for many shows/theaters

Ooh! Maybe Back to the Future or Hell's Kitchen :)
Thanks for your tips. We are coming to NYC mid March. What do you think the chances to get 4 tickets to Aladdin, Lion King or Michael Jackson for cheap on Sunday or Monday?
Most theaters are dark on Monday, and those are all best selling shows! But check TKTS website to see if you can nab cheaper seats in advance!
What about for Harry Potter? I’m on the lyric Broadway website. Should I purchase there or Ticketmaster?
Hi,I'm going to New York City in march. So,i want to know how to distinguish the correct site for booking from fake one. Please tell me how or official sote.
Hooray! Welcome to New York--TodayTix, BroadwayDirect, Ticketmaster, SeatGeek, Broadway.com, and Telecharge are all reputable!

Hi!! So glad you found me, too!
Hi! How to get cheap tickets (and preferably good center seats) for Aladdin?
Hey! I'd probably try TKTS if you're going off season, or just go to the box office if it's high season. That's a trickier one, since it sells really well!
Agreed! Thank you for confirming@@itskatharinequinn :)
what a job.Very well organized, thoughtful and pleasure to watch.
My tip is know someone in the show and get to watch from the wings or from the booth. ;)
The option for the theatre kid :)
Have a tip to get Broadway tix? Drop it below!
Guys, is Broadway Direct reliable to buy tickets for Lion King?
Yes. Absolutely. Broadway Direct is the official seller. If I had to buy full price online, that’s where I would go.
Great video
Average tix price I think I heard was $220-$240.
Whaaaaat??
I might have been looking at prime times, buying the tix at the theaters. But they seem to be pretty up there when i was looking.@@itskatharinequinn
good
Best video on broadway tickets!

Any way to get a discount for a Veteran?
