Man at least you were over the shallows, glad you're alright. I fish Tampa multiple times a week, and used to fish out of a small 12ft Jon Boat before I got my skiff. I've come real close to doing this a few times but luckily I jumped out each time into the water before the gunnels could got swamped. Every time I was in maybe 2-3ft of water - anything deep enough to tread water, there'd of been no way I would've been able to get back in the boat without swamping it. After the 3rd time, I decided it was time for a skiff. Scared me too much lol. I'm 6'3 270lbs, so I learned real quick that I needed something more stable lol. Hope your gear and outboard were all fine, shit happens!
I am very sorry about your incident, but very glad you produced this PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT and show everyone this stuff really does happen and it happens so quickly that you don't think right when it does. I hope you can get everything back and back fishing. I love your videos. Sincerely.
You said it best, "God wasn't done with me yet"... What a blessing that you are still here to sahre this experience. What A Mighty Gid We Serve. Stay bless and stay safe 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Glad you safe. I know how you exactly feel. I capsized my gheenoe a few years ago also at Teirra Verde. Luckily, there were two boaters that came and helped. Can't thank them enough. Now I run a 26ft Worldcat.
That’s crazy happened to me on a motorized kayak held onto a party boat a rope. They threw me and pulled me through Clearwater Inlet. Definitely not a Phone experience. Glad to see you made. It definitely hit me up. I got a boat to roll in anyway
Man I owned a Gheenoe, used it for about a year and it just was not stable enough for me. Had to sell it and buy a regular type skiff. Glad you made it out safely.
Same thing happened to me i have a 12 foot john boat and i sunk at the gandy in super deep water but the tip of my boat was floating because it has styrofoam i was lucky someone seen me and a friend going down so they followed us and then had to tow me back to shore but i ran the hoes on the motor for awhile to rinse the salt off as much as I can then took it to the boat shop for an overhaul cost me 430 i have a mercury 9.9 but was well worth it and now I know to respect the water 🌊
Take motor off pull plugs flush fresh water drain oil flush flush get back suck out turn over by hand clock way 👍 vac out hope no bent valves 🔥that lipo battery is a bomb if water gets in it remember ok check compresson after

Scary. When I was young I used to fish out of a canoe with a trolling motor, had that happen to me thankfully in shallow water off Cedar Key.
Scary feeling 😮
