I am 77 years old and retired in Thailand. I have always had a passion for here in what you call snakeheads are the game fish of choice. They are not only great fighters but far better tasting than bass. Jon boats are available here from 12ft. to 16ft . Since I fish alone, a 14-footer is perfect. The main problem I had was that there are no boat launches on the 6 reservoirs near me, so a light boat that can be launched by hand by one 77 year old man had to be solved. First keeping the weight down on the boat. Backing the boat into the water with a 2 wheel drive pickup was not a good ideal. I have a simple 12v trolling motor on the front of the boat and on the back a 10hp Honda Thai Longtail that not only gives me good speed the system allows me to fish in 6 inches of water (snakeheads love shallow water). The reservoirs here are 3 to 4 mile long to 1 to 3 miles wide so the 15mph speed from the Longtail Honda is adequate. The main thing is it is cheap. The motor and Longtail propeller system complete was $500. Naturally spare parts are cheap a new propeller $4. The trolling motor $125, the 14ft. Jon boat $ 800 and the trailer complete with tail lights $450. I went on UA-cam and learned to rivet since I wanted a casting platform on the front section of the boat. I had to lower the front bench seat to make it level with the middle bench seat so that I could put a marine plywood deck on the two bench seats I also made a swivel seat so that I could seat and operate the trolling motor and cast my rod. To launch my boat I only need level ground to the water. I made a 2 wheel dolly with a 6ft Handel that I can pull or push the boat and trailer with, so pushing the boat and trailer into the water by hand is easy. I only need knee deep water to float the boat off the trailer, I then pull the boat near shore to load my gear. After fishing getting the boat and trailer back to the pickup is easy. I mounted a 12v wench on a stand that fit the ball on the trailer, removing the battery from my boat I hook up the wench to the battery and the wench cable to the boat trailer and pull the boat out of the water and to the back of the pickup I can the remove the wench and connect the trailer to the pickup an head home. Boat, motor, and trailer weight 200 lbs and total cost $3,000. I also spent another $900 on a Hummingbird fish locator but found it useless since I am fishing in very shallow water the GPS is not needed since I can see across the resovour, and since the water level changes so much where you fished one month ago can be dry land a month later asking a chart is useless. Finally I can easily remove the casting deck and take my son fishing. When I get home I disconnect the trailer from the pickup and using the dolly move my boat to an are where I can clean it and the movet it to a shed where it would be impossible to use my pickup. That my friends is retirement snakehead fishing in Thailand!
Dude! I've been wanting to build a jet jon for a while and I've also been wanting a Bass Tracker. I have seen pretty much every other jet jon on youtube over the years and then here comes this thing.
Didn't really seem to get up on plane, do they all ride like that? Also he damn near sank the thing, another 2 inches and he'd have had 100 gallons of water in the boat.
You should have used some REVive rubberized undercoating inside that engine compartment. Or a similar product, anything to help deaden the sound of the motor. Create a tighter seal reduce the noise.
Sounds like that pump was cavitating bad under hard throttle. I'd be very curious to see the design of the intake on bottom. Might just need a different impeller though.
You might want to see if you need a bilge blower on your enclosed engine. My state requires one if the engine is enclosed so gas fumes don’t blow the boat apart.
Slap a real steering wheel on that beast , install a seat & cooler on top of that engine bay hump & call it a day. 🎉 great job builders & cheers to the owner.
CRAZY!!! OMGosh!!! So clean it's ridiculous! Watched that build as #TrickedTins put it out; ungodly hrs of work with amazing ingenuity. Hey -- Could #KingNeptune handle an upgrade similar??? LOL Be Safe
Yeah, I was kind of surprised by the corners on the console. Would've been a lot of grinding, but would've been that extra finishing touch to look clean
Definitely not, and when you add in the fact Jetski motors are only rated to last some shit like 350 hours, it's a really expensive boat that doesn't seem to handle well and almost sank on the trial run. Way better off just buying a new Lowe tunnel hull with an outboard jet motor, it'll last you 35 years, won't handle like shit, and won't look like a tumor.
I wasn't that impressed. I was rooting for you when you almost put the bow on the bottom of the river though. LOL couldn't help but notice, you didn't tell us how much this cost to build... I am going to take a wild guess and say it's not much cheaper than just buying a brand new tunnel hull Lowe with an outboard jet motor. Also, who gives a shit if it's symmetrical, it's a fishing boat not a mail order bride...
Great video, brotha! Love sharing these builds with you! Such an epic day! I have a feeling we'll be doing this again soon! I need my own jetjon! 😂😂😂

WOW!!!! Tricked Tins at a whole new level!!!! Now that would make getting to the fishing spot a whole lot of fun! Great job, Matt!
Thank you!
Schwiiiing!!
Exactly what I fantasized of building ~ it’s like a PT Brat. Fuuuggin hell man, you killed it.
man tricked tins does some amazing work, the craftsmanship and attention to detail is insane it looks so factory
Hell yea killer jet boat brother love the carpet color
What an awesome boat. Love to see these new projects
Ayo?! That's some neat stuff right there, defying jon boat physics and making it look easy!
That build is tuff 🔥🔥🔥
Dude! I've been wanting to build a jet jon for a while and I've also been wanting a Bass Tracker. I have seen pretty much every other jet jon on youtube over the years and then here comes this thing.
Bass tracker has indore jet druve proline too

Nice! He always impresses!
Matt is a true wizard!
Heck yea yall did this at locks pointe. I love the build
nicely done man!
Cool video! You do nice stuff bud!!
Thanks brotha
Great job
You killed it
That is sweeeet!
What kind of paint was used on this boat? Do you have a link? Thank you
Good job 👏 👏👏👏👏
Yeah that was wicked fast
Bad Ass Boat!
so sick!
That engine is awesome in a 16 ft boat. I prefer the mackenzie 16+ hull with windshield, this engine would pair extremely well in that boat hull.
Yesvutcwell
That thing is sick! But they should revisit the water intake it sounds like it's cavities alot
Wrong
Definitely cavitating when he romped on the gas the first time.
sick boat
Pretty bad ass nice job.
Yay finally 😂

Cool boat dude.
Needs a seat or stand bar, highly dependent on that steering for support.
could easily see driver going into the water.😂

looks like to me the whole impeller is way high out of the water!

Thatscright

That is custom work right there bud dang .
Thanks!
That's crazy hahaha. Cool
Need one ASAP how much
Reach out to Matt through his website or FB! Links in the description of video
Yea sure you do.
If you had the money Lowe makes tunnel hull outboard jet boats that will run this thing into oblivion.
CRAZY!!! OMGosh!!! So clean it's ridiculous! Watched that build as #TrickedTins put it out; ungodly hrs of work with amazing ingenuity. Hey -- Could #KingNeptune handle an upgrade similar??? LOL Be Safe
YESSSSSSSS
had a feeling you'd like this one 🤣
I don't even want to ask what the cost of this build was. Wow!
Probably more than a brand new Lowe tunnel hull with an outboard jet motor
Stand up console is a death trap in that boat.
Che. Sit diwn cusel never stand up
Awesome! Get a seat or lock in feet somehow otherwise you can fly off the boat lol also grind your welds. Them corners and seams hideous
Yeah, I was kind of surprised by the corners on the console. Would've been a lot of grinding, but would've been that extra finishing touch to look clean
Dude that hat looks comical
Havnt seen a video drom u in months and u come back with a tricked tin? U ok buddy?
What u mean I posted one last week and two the week before
2 100ah Dakota lithium for a single trolling motor damn
That’s what I run on the Neptune
He got them for free.
hmmm probably closer to 40ish
A YEAR to build!!?? That CAN'T be cost effective. cool boat though.

Want to sell it?
Yeah I want it lol
Ffs the music on top of the nice engine sounds. When will people learn how much music on videos sucks balls!
Where the hell have u been
I wasn't that impressed. I was rooting for you when you almost put the bow on the bottom of the river though. LOL
