    I do love Lidl bakery - delicious doughnuts 🍩 wherever I can, I buy organic fruit and vegetables, the produce tastes better to me. I hope you and Beanie have a great 2025, Rechenda 🖤🐈🌸

    I love a charity shop. People are mad to buy stuff brand new if they can get what they want in a charity shop. Lots of junk in them, but also good stuff too. Less waste too.

      And it's FUN. I feel like I'm housing a few more orphans❣️🤣.

    I agree with you on the single ingredient food and not needing organic at least for most foods. They can’t guarantee that the food is completely free of anything that may come from other surroundings fields for example. And organic farms can still use some chemicals on their lands and foods. Also they technically are not allowed to add anything to their food so for example they can’t add calcium to non dairy milk so you’d be buying expensive milk substitute and end up with a calcium deficiency. And it’s not as environmentally friendly as one would hope, considering how much water is used for the farming etc and finally it couldn’t sustain the whole world population..
    I studied this for many years.. if one wants the organic food, for whatever reason, by all means go for it! But we shouldn’t feel bad if we cannot afford it and we certainly don’t need more food/nutrition/health inequalities and feelings of guilt if we can’t feed our families the most expensive organic food.. maybe 1-2 people family on a budget could buy organic Waitrose but I doubt that budget would stretch for more people/kids in the household..
    sorry to go on and on but the cost of food and consequent health inequalities is a big deal for most people I work with and myself included.
    Thank you for the video. I always feel happy to see a new one from you. Your voice is my ASMR! 💓

    I live in the central Europe, not in the UK, and on a budget. I definitely buy organic bananas (but we don't eat bananas much), flour, oil, dried red kidney beans (because I want my 5 year old to eat beans and these are delicious), millet (superfood, baby!) and oat flakes if possible. Honey from local farmers only. Fruits and vegetables occasionally and most of the times for my kid. I cook from scatch, but simple meals.

    Happy new year! Our lidl in Swindon is so rubbish! But if I venture further to Chippenham, there's a great lidl and it's fantastic!

    My farmer friends reckons most "organic food" isn't and people are being conned. I never buy organic for that reason.

    • @miickiie97
      @miickiie97 2 дні тому

      You can only label foods as organic if your farm has certified by registered associations so deffo not a con lol just depends on if you think the benefits are worth the extra price

    I see it a bit differently.. the shop isn't overstocked. I'd rather see a few gaps on the shelves than loads being binned

    I’m with you on the single ingredient food. Being vegan, fake meats are very processed so I do try to have tofu, rather than the meat substitutes. I do make my own seitan though which is pure gluten (obtained by soaking flour in water to extract it) made into a dough with stock and spices, kneaded into shape, braised in stock and then roasted or fried. Of course treat days are a thing! But I try to eat clean where I can. Not totally sold on organic, but I will be growing my own veg this year 😊

    For a sec I thought you were going to tell us that the only organic yoga teacher had passed away at a young age due to their diet.

    Trying to make healthier choices in life when it comes to meals. That Chazza seems quite pricey. Our Aldi (where I do the bulk of my shopping has been a bit desolate since Christmas too). I don't buy organic as I tend to peel everything in the most part. I am trying to avoid processed food mainly and up my water intake (again not in a plastic bottle).

    Totally agree with you Rechenda...I prefer aldi than lidl...went to aldi yesterday afternoon it was absolutely packed, still had alot on the shelves tho ...and all the tills were open 👍..wish I had 3/400 pound to spend on any type of food lol😅...unfortunately my 20.00 a week has to do 😅 x

    Op shopping used to be budget friendly, not anymore! Your groceries seem to be cheaper there than here in Australia! Is boyfriend camera shy or are you inching him in bit by bit?
