Thanks for posting. What did I like about this video? Audio and video quality were good. So was delivery. The section was cogent, passionate and convincing. What didn’t I like about this video? The other sections were pants. Lack of a volcanic eruption. To summarise: Oh....whatever.
This looks up my alley but not sure which edition to get - the newest edition (in the white box) has upgraded the art a bit but there seems to be a bit of confusion over the player boards. Cheers for another good review!
During the ‘what we don’t like’ the tears were running down my cheeks 😂. I’ve bought this game to try Stefan Feld (apart from the app Castles of burgundy, that I like more than I think I would like in its fysical form), what I like is the simple rules and smooth play. After lockdown I can introduce it to my non-gamer friends, who want to try a more strategic game.
I am to lazy to seize the day, Just give me more bread, gold and point sallad please. Edit Fed 2024: Played this yesterday, a new player immedeatly liked it. The old muddly looking one.... It is good but get the new...er look (like other games AFTER 1995 at least).
I remember hearing that a new version was in the works a while back... Okay let's see what they can do. They changed the star bouncing roundel to a clockwise/ anit-clockwise roundel. Okay how was the artwork improved? Yeah...what artwork. I do love the game and the feel of the gameplay, but when I drag it out to teach new players I can hear the groans as the pieces hit the table. Remember the updated artwork for Castles of Burgundy? yeah I'll pass thank you. Are you the artist? Yeah get a new job. 😂
The name of the game and the art is such a shame, covering this brilliant game. You would think they would at least hire someone to make a decent cover and someone to come up with a better name for a Feld game.
Just bought this, and it looks to be exactly what I expected from my good buddy Stefan.
Lucky for you it is…👍🏻

Lol
Let’s hope the message about theme and artwork gets to mr Feld. Great review as ever.
Somehow I doubt it…

I’ve read the new one has some errors. Dunno what or where though.
They have sorted it now, there was a misprinted edge piece and a misprinted player board.

Is that the one with the white box?
@@BoardGameBollocks Yeah, white box. I have the original ( star bouncing roundel )
Gutted they took that out. Worked really well and added a bit of confusion.

Maybe they thought Feld fans actively enjoyed crap looking games? At least it makes them cheap enough to buy without remortgaging one’s house.
