This is easily the best documentary I have seen about Proust. The acting, the commentary, the chance to see Michel Butor and Terence Kilmartin convey their passion for the work. I'm most grateful to have discovered this.
I am a USAer… currently living in Laureles, Medellin, Antioquia, Colombia -- Watching this from here is poetic. I just discovered Proust yesterday. Writing a blog about him now.
What a beautiful gift in this Covid portal ( when I find it ) but a truly timeless appreciation of Proust's art for all humanity.
Thank you for sharing this fascinating introduction to Proust. A great combination of original quotation, well informed commentary and dramatisation.
Excellent. This will help you understand the writings of Proust in a new and enlightened way. Well put together and fascinating to watch
Thanks for sharing this classic programme with us.
I'll add my sincere thanks for sharing a great programme.
Bomb-ass documentary
Excellently done.
Proust est magique...
Many thanks sir!!
Het wordt tijd, dat jongens weer echte literatuur gaan lezen. Marcel Proust is een goed voorbeeld.
💕
Thanks!
Proust taught how to read...
Kindof funny that these people all have English accents when Proust was actually French! Shouldn't they have gotten Frenchmen to do this??
Only if it had been done in French.
Proust in any other language is not Proust
Your comment in any other language is still a mere comment.
Snob.
Salem Fathi pretentious much?
Salem Fathi, It's very important that people get to know him and the language doesn't matter. it is beautiful written in french, but with a very good translation the beauty doesn't fail. you are just looking for attention. I know so and i am sure. you love this negative attention.... YOU NEED IT
Undoubtedly many of the subtleties disappear when he's translated, but the meaning of his words shifts with the passage of time anyway. If humanity lasts 300-400 years, even the French will only have access to him through translation.
