- Beautiful radio, the Yaesu flagship and very famous FT1000 in just pristine condition. Beautiful receiver, 200w transmitter, how could you go wrong. Unfortunately I had to make a choice due to room, or more to the point, lack of room, and a very good friend is adopting this beautiful radio for his ever growing shack. Enjoy old mate Cheers brenton vk3cm jdw229 pls subscribe and also feel free to join us on Facebook at Aussie Radio Pickers or vk ham sales and service anytime

Love my 1000 - Hate moving it! Still kicks arse compared to alot of modern stuff
Hope my MkV field (which I purchased from posnav) , has similar longevity, it's been in its box most of its life, i always liked the FT1000 when they came out (1990) never thought i would get one, I wish the MkV had an analogue meter like the original.
Working at Dick Smith Electronics between 1992 & 2004 I too loved this radio !! Earnt some great Commission $ selling these. Probably sold 20 odd over that time right here in Albury 👍
FT1000D, a full set of electros and all good for another 30 years
A very beautiful radio. I've worked on several but have never had one of my own.
Always thought that the FT-1000 was beautiful radio. Never had the money to own one. Great video Brenton. Hope the new owner enjoys it. :) 73 Joe
wow beautiful radio
There is an FT-1000 loaded with all of the filters for just $400.I am a Die Hard ICOM MAN & if I purchased the FT-1000 I doubt I would ever use it since I have the ICOM 7600 & ICOM 9100 both on my desk already. The First HF Base I ever owned was a New FT-990 back in 1994 & it was a great HF Only radio but it's light years behind the two ICOM base radios I already own & use today.$400 is an Amazing price but would it just be for display?
I have this rig as well as the FTDX101D. to be honest....I kind of prefer the 1000D. I did a video about it on my YT channel recently. I'm going to be adding an RSP1A panadapter very soon.
Definitely a nice rig (especially with the 200 watts), but I have to say that the Spectrum Scopes in the Icom rigs are a very nice feature. If Yaesu had added a Scope to this rig, it would be awesome.
I have one of these radios...I suspect the microphone was dissconnected while the power was on resulting in the tranciever being stuck in transmit mode.....do you know of a remedy for this scenario?
Hello everyone. Is the Yaesu FT1000MP Mark-V/Yaesu FT1000MP considerable upgrade to this one? ( I'm not a radio amateur, i'm just looking for second hand transceivers to surprise my father who is.) Right now both radios are available to me at pretty much the same price - 1100 EUR ( I live in Germany) whereas Yaesu FT1000 or Yaesu FT990 is around 500 EUR. I realize this may not be the best place to ask these questions but i'm pretty lost about ham radios.
Howdy, no issues, your questions are good questions for sure. The FT1000D is a very sought after rare radio, as is the FT1000MK5, its two different eras with you needing to really ascertain from your dad as to which is his personal preference. The FT990 will usually be quite cheaper than the FT1000D etc, and significant differences in operation for sure. The FT1000D and MK5 are both 200w outputs where all the other models are 100 watts. Now, be aware that the 200w versions are pulling the larger money, but the FT1000MP etc at 100w is quite a bit cheaper as is the 100w FT990. There is sometimes a lot of confusion over different models of FT1000, but the 200w is a huge giveaway for sure. And if you have any further questions, happy to help. cheers Brenton VK3CM Tangambalanga North East Victoria Australia
@@brentonmeadowsvk3cm Thank you very much, Brenton, your reply has been helpful!
Hey brenton I have the 920 ,, what is the real differance between the 920 and the 1000
The 920 has 6 meters & the 920 is only 100 watts & the AM/FM boards are Optional on the 920 as well if you can even locate them these days.
yeah also the FT1000D IS
