    it's these video's, and your flytying video's that recently got me into fly fishing. bought myself a vision pike set as my first fly fishing gear ever. caught my first pike on the fly a couple of days ago, and it was AWESOME!

    I can answer because i Am a pike fly fisher two. These are finger protections, to make the stripping easier (when you strip during one entire day, it will cause burn! with this it is smoother) and the principal reason is: a fish as powerfull as a pike that could reach easily up to a meter, could take more than 50 meters of line during the first run (the entire fly line and a good amount of backing) once a time it prevent burning wounds. Sorry for any mistakes.

      maingeot manuel It’s not only good for pike fishing. Also awesome when fishing for seatrout But that is the smallest fish you normally target with this additional gear.

    The tandem rig is good because other fish being aggressive seems to trigger pike aggression. When pike see other fish feeding they get hungry.

    Would love to see a proper video on how to pick up a pike like that. You make it look so easy.

    • @43RattleSnake
      @43RattleSnake 8 років тому

      Its pretty easy really you just slide your fingers up the gillplate and watch out for the teeth then pinch the lip.

    • @dampcpungen
      @dampcpungen 8 років тому

      43RattleSnake pinch the lip? They have teeth in the front too... Stay away from the lips and that's a pretty accurate description

    What weight fly rod do you use with your articulated flies? I am going to northern Canada in June and would like to make your flies and use them on an eight weight fly rod. Should I sue a ten weight rod instead?

    • @TheSavagederek

      BeyondTheCatchOutdoors
      So the fingers don't get hurt by the line, since you slide up and down while pulling the line in

    I love fishing pike the only thing that I dislike about it is that you could hook garbage on you're line and it would bite, it's a fish that I consider like a garbage can, whatever it can get his sharp teeth's on it's going to bite, as long as it can see the "lure"
