Powerful performance. When El is gone, he will be looked at for being WAYYYYY ahead of his time. Myke C town from Dead End Hip Hop said it best _"El-P is competing with rappers who haven't even been _*_born yet!_*_"_
Agreed, I hope we get at least another twenty years of this guy's music. El is a Mozart amongst hip-hop beatmakers, and a charismatic genius badass on top of that.
After 4 listens I finally fully appreciated this album. This is how perfection sounds, El-P is pushing boundaries for rap and electronic music everytime he goes into studio. This song is so powerful and emotional Jamie, thank You for the music
4?! Wow. I knew going in the whole album was dedicated to Camu Tao so I already went in with that mindset and just knowing almost Els whole body of work it wasn't hard to positively criticize this album with high praise. C4c is deep. Great record. R.i.p Tao.
How could have I have not known about this man for so long? After listening to RTJ for a few months and recently his solo shit... I now know El P is fucken legend.
This very song, this very moment in his life, that's where it shifts. He put that transformative power in this whole album, but this very song i think encapsulates something truly unique (it's too bad we don't have the 2nd short part of it live too but anyway). There's something like a power of resurrection at work here, this is higher wizardry in the making. I'm pretty sure he also was really fighting to believe in something. And that's what the 2nd part of the song says. He only had one person to believe in : himself. I'm pretty sure that's what "Me and You" refers to. Maybe his wife but idk his private life and i'm only concerned with the art. But then what's funny is : "Me and you" turned into RTJ. The 2nd part of the formula ALSO worked :D I don't think i'm exagerating the slightest bit.
u could tell each guy including el-producto is in the zone for this song.....love this performance, fucking masterpiece. feel bad for the ones that are two close minded to give el-p a chance...may god have mercy on your ears....
Can't have enough of this beautiful quality... such tight, phat, enlightening sound enriched with an amazing rap... amazing El-P. Thanks for making this stuff real. Keep it coming, and do more of this in the offtheavenue.
god damn why did they not do a whole set here! woulda been the nextest bestest shit! like, hyperbole is my friend at the worst of times but this is one of the greatest live performances ever! next only to Drones over Brooklyn!
+see noevo i knew of this sht' b4 billions, but i also watched the opener to billions and was like wtf,, despot, and elp lmao they the opposite of billionaires. cept' in lyrical currency.
El P is a disgusting artist. He should be up there with the greats. He tells a story with amazing words that you'd probably have to google. He puts it all together and always comes correct as well while having purpose.
16 years ago, I said that Fantastic Damage sounded like Public Enemy met Blade Runner. I am glad that EL-P endures.
That was a excellent comparison.
Love the analogy.
Truth
Powerful performance. When El is gone, he will be looked at for being WAYYYYY ahead of his time. Myke C town from Dead End Hip Hop said it best _"El-P is competing with rappers who haven't even been _*_born yet!_*_"_
dude.... lets not ponder on El-P being fone.
Agreed, I hope we get at least another twenty years of this guy's music. El is a Mozart amongst hip-hop beatmakers, and a charismatic genius badass on top of that.
Metal Mickey damn
Metal Mickey pump this shitt like they do in the future
...and he's destroying those fetuses.
El-P always manage to sound so futuristic no matter when you hear him.
This is even better than the album version...wow.
So your saying it's GARBAGE!!
If so i agree el-p as an emcee is dope but as a beat maker not so much.
This is one of the most amazing things that I've ever heard. El-P is and will always be The Maestro.
EL-P is one of the best to ever grace the Hip Hop game !
El-P is one of the best rappers and producers in the game
one of those songs that you need to listen to a few times to truly appreciate
what a badass. he has perfected his craft
One of my favorite tracks of his. One of the best in the game bar none. Love the guitar too in this version.

So much soul in this. Powerful.
Kid was the cats pajamas, before pajamas were invented. He can lift spirits, like a real Ghostbuster. He is the most interesting spitter in the game.
Hahaha good shit
a muthafukn opus!!... gives me goosebumps every goddamn time.
Absolutely stunning artistry and poetry.
