I'm brazilian and I confirm that a lot of people here in Brazil are huge fans of the show and of course, of Mr. David Suchet, I just finished watching at least the final season and I cried of sadness and joy during the last episode, Poirot is absolutely fascinating but more dazzling than him is Mr. David who portrayed to perfection and gave Poirot even more charisma than the books, I just have to thank him for all the happiness he brought during all the seasons to all of us fans, wonderful serie and of course, WONDERFUL DAVID!
Like Jeremy Brett's Sherlock Holmes, David Suchet's Poirot will forever be the benchmarks any future performers of the character will be measured by. The lavish productions of the entire Poirot series were extraordinary from the start. While the series took necessary liberties with the stories (Captain Hastings appeared with Hercule Poirot in but a few of the Christie originals, for example), the characters were all the more endearing in their screen adaptations. I missed Poirot when reading the final story some 40 years ago, and will now miss him anew. Thank you, Mr. Suchet, and the BBC for making these wonderful tales come to life.
He is the only true Hercule Poirot. Beeing an Agatha Christie fan since age of 11 in year 1983, David Suchet is totally the picture of Poirot that I had made in my mind through the stories of Christie. He has made the character alive. And we in Finland have enjoyed Davids own voice and even it fits perfectly. Thank you mon ami and au revoir ❤️

The quality of character acting in this series was so high that even some artists who were on the fringe went on to do really well for themselves in the later years. But Mr Suchet as Poirot. Remarkable! Not something one can really describe in words. I have watched every single episode and not just once but many times. Each time I am just stumped at the dedication and flawless perfection of Mr Suchet's acting.
Amanda Abbington once said that being casted in Agatha Christie's TV series is like a rite if passage for English actors. It's like passing an exam. You add a credential in your resume. It shows how long and how influential those series are.

I would not mind it at all if they started shooting again the same cases with new scenery, revised or the same cast and ofcouse the legendary David Suchet. I don't think that the millions of fans would mind having two episode versions of the same case !!!! David Suchet is such a tremendous Hercule Poirot!!!

As some have already pointed, Poirot has never been dubbed in Finland. Really, only kids' cartoons (and a handful episodes of The Bold and the Beautiful some 15 years ago) are dubbed. Looking and listening to performances by David Suchet and others such as Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes makes me extremely grateful for that.

He's terrific. I've watched him since they started on UTV now ITV on Sunday nights when I was a child almost thirty years ago. Still when I have a free afternoon and it's cold outside I'm watching again with a cup of tea. He's so good that you can only think of him when u read the books. I just watched the last episode and i cried... I cried so hard because of the way it hit me and it hit me very hard. I feel like my childhood is over because i grew up watching Poirot and i could feel that the characters were also getting older. This show was incredible and i cant get this feeling and thought out of my head.
No one ever has or will be Hercule Poirot other than the great David Suchet. When I re-read the books I only ever see Poirot portrayed by Suchet and as such gain even more pleasure from Christie’s wonderful writing than ever before. I so wish that Agatha had been able to witness the justice that David Suchet has paid her work.

Love David Suchet! The definitive Poriot! Its like watching the character come alive to see him! Always to a wonderful standard! He is also a pretty amazing actor generally...loved his Melmotte in the BBC adaptation of Anthony Trollopes The Way we Live Now...also another possibly definitive portrayal on his part of a literary character ...his interpretation of Robert Maxwell in the dramatization of the moguls life was pretty good too...kind of similar to his portrayal of Melmotte really...but different enough to not be too similar....wonderful actor...always want to see more of him :)

I want David Suchet to play Poirot forever.Ohh...I'm so sad that I cannot get enough of him.I have never ever loved a person who played the character by the book.Its like Agatha Christie herself tailor made David Suchet up in heaven and sent him to play Poirot for the Modern audience.Yeah,he was that perfect.God send.And you would only recognise it if you have read all the poirot series from Appointment with Death till Curtain : Last Case.
