- In today's z episode, we install a 240z Mishimoto aluminum radiator into the 1978 280z. While we were unable to retain the fan shroud, it brought some show car look to the engine bay. The 280z is slightly cooler now :)

As an owner of a 78 Z, I love these videos! Yeah, I went through a similar situation last year. Since I have an AC condenser in front of the radiator, I kept the fan shroud on my new radiator to pull more air through. What's interesting is, I've seen some early 240z's without a coolant overflow tank. Just an outlet on the radiator pointing the opposite direction as ours, and tubing.
I have a 75' and no coolant overflow tank either. My stock huge intake takes up the entire area. I had to pause the video and run out to see if it was there. no luck.
Nothing more comfortable than wearing socks and sandals while working. Guilty of doing the same. Nice instal.
Haha comfort first. Safety second. Sometimes. 😛
Im a simple man. I see a CZeroMedia video, I click.
New camera? Quality looks amazing.
Yes sirrr
Right on thanks for sharing
Thanks G
Can’t wait to see this thing cruise in the summer.
New camera it seems!
I painted my fan shroud silver and it actually turned out pretty good with my aluminum radiator!
hang on to the old radiator, they can be recored if needed. That way when the alum radiator starts to leak you have a backup. Keep the shroud as well. again fits the old and you should keep that.
OranZ, I like it.
I would go for a more modern (and thinner) multi-pass radiator with an electric fan (in mine) for just that little bit more space in the engine bay. Then whatever swap I end up with has more room, ehether it's turbo piping or a larger engine.
That is clean, fits right in there.
Awesome video Ishin, Mishimoto radiator looks excellent. Definitely suits the engine bay and sits well with those chrome fender mirrors. Looking forward to the next one as always bro, keep rockin' 😎👍🏽
Thanks man!!!
Great video car looking amazing
Thank you for this video your subscriber on the West Coast I always enjoy watching your videos plus you always get me out into the garage to work on my S 30 Z.
Haha we all need to inspire each other!
You going to merced for the datsloko Datsun meet?
Waiting for some evo content 😟☹️
Haha me too 😅
Did you have to plug/cap the 2 JIC looking fittings at the bottom next to the drain plug?
So what did you gain by putting a thicker but shorter radiator with no fan shroud?
What did you use for the insulation between the radiator and the chassis? Just rubber grommets?
I bought one for my 240Z 73 last year. The mounting holes didn’t line up. 😞
Get the champion Z radiator ,,it's the same thing ,,,and more affordable and run a 160 temp thermostat ,,,you engine will stay cool all the time with 16 lbs cap
Where you been bro
I took a piss and left the ads playing gotta help a brother out
Do you have a link for the radiator ? I tried to find it on the website but it doesn't come out
yoyoyo
Yoyoyo!
This is your subscriber on the West Coast thank you for this video I always enjoy your videos thank you
I know you are sponsered by Mishi, but they are complete crap. I had gone through two of their coolant expansion tanks on my STI. Same crack at the same spot on the welds. Went to a Moroso and never looked back.
I don’t think this was an upgrade at all. Radiator isn’t bigger overall and you deleted the fan shroud. I had a fan shroud break on a car when I was younger and threw it in the trash. Started having cooling problems.
Ez efi kit?
That's in the plan but I wanna build the motor first
