i'm glad i clicked on this in my recommendations bc we had pretty similar situations. last year i was rejected for maths and phil at oxford and decided i wanted to apply again, to the USA instead, but i wanted something to do in the meantime so i started at st andrews and now i'm restarting uni at stanford. good luck at cambridge!

I also have lots of nosebleeds and have been recently diagnosed with haemophilia and given some medicine that stops them, might be worth getting a blood test. I also play bass! Warwick Maths is really good! It's a pretty big step up from A-Level, but there's loads of contact hours plus drop in sessions to help and they did a change to the course two years ago and all the fourth years agree it's really well constructed. Would definitely recommend if you like the look of the uni :)
I used to use notion and I really liked it, but last year I had a 15min screen time limit on my phone so now I use a paper diary. For me it works really well because I have to carry a fat bag around with my migraine meds in anyway, so adding in a diary isn't really any extra hassel. I suppose if you don't usually carry a bag around it might be slightly more inconvenient and I would probably use notion again. I like paper because it makes me feel like I'm more productive?? I feel like I'm a businesswoman writing down all my tasks with a pen and then whipping out the black diary whenever someone asks if I'm free 😭 Ultimately it probably doesn't matter I just have all the dates down and I scribble in what I'm going to do
you can but there are certain restrictions. for example i had to change course (maths -> physics), i was limited with which colleges i was allowed to apply to, and i had to get the director of studies for maths to approve my application. it is a bit of a ballache but it is definitely possible. i didn't have to drop out until after summer term :)

I decided to reapply the moment I got rejected the first time haha yeah I applied for Maths and Oxford and they said no 😬 It definitely is an option to go to uni and reapply but you need to be careful because I had to get permission from the head of department to reapply, I was limited in my college choice and I had to change subjects (luckily for me none of these things posed an issue). I definitely wouldn't rule it out as an option though as it worked out for me :) Best of luck to you whatever you decide to do 🫶🏻

thank you!! i've always been interested in theoretical physics - many people approach this through a pure maths degree first then specialise later on. i personally thought that going for maths would be a 'safer' bet in case i changed my mind. when i reapplied though, since i was already enrolled on a maths degree, i wasn't allowed to enter for maths again, so that was the decision done lol

uni maths isn't bad haha i think when i was applying i had done 3 weeks(ish) here and i was a bit shocked because the maths just wasn't what i was expecting, so i though it'd be better off with physics instead (i like the maths a lot more now, but the physics is still really fun). i think because i had already planned to reapply to cambridge i just made the switch, but if you start uni maths and are unsure it's defo worth waiting it out for a bit longer than 3 weeks

Why not just do degree at Warwick. Is still STEM degree from top Russell group university. Target school for many firms . Not sure there is much difference between that and Cambridge for career , unless you are staying in academia
my plan was always to stay here for just a year! i agree the degree here is incredible, but i want to switch to physics anyway and personally doing the move makes the most sense rather than changing degree here (which would also require me to restart the year lol)
@@killercon2735 It depends what your career goals are. If academic then I can see the reason but if was to go into investment banking or city in a finance career then it does not matter . Warwick is a target university and I know many grads, now associates or higher from York, Warwick, Bristol, Imperial that all beat Cambridge or Oxford grads at interview for various finance careers. Although, makes sense if switching to physics and seems you have already decided on a different career path. Good luck
it's not standard haha it required a lot of emails. some places won't take people who are already at university so it's definitely a case of asking around - for me I had to find a specific college that was happy to take me at cambridge (emmanuel) and then i had to get the director of undergrad studies at warwick to email cambridge and tell them that they were happy for me to reapply

Congrats! If you don’t mind me asking, how was Warwick Maths so far? Since I have an offer from there and I’m struggling to choose my firm.

Do u use dark brown or black hair dye?
actually i use live or cosmic blue, but because my hair is brown at the base it comes out more black than using jet black hair dye
