  • Dive into the latest 2023 Calypso software with our updated tutorial. This video guides you through the creation of a detailed Calypso measurement plan, incorporating CAD and showcasing the creation of 10 common characteristics alongside the application of various advanced scanning tools.
We tackle specific tasks such as:
Determining the location and size of holes, assessing Perpendicularity and distance. Measuring angles and other overall dimensions of the block,
Applying concepts like True Position with MMC, Profile and Flatness, and much more. All culminating in the execution of a custom measurement plan using simulation.
This tutorial uses the cutting-edge version of Calypso, utilizing modern methods and the latest techniques to offer a practical, hands-on learning experience.
It’s important to note that while this video showcases the current version of Calypso (2023), and adheres to up-to-date training methodologies, it stands as an independent educational tool aimed at enhancing your understanding and proficiency with the software.
For those seeking official certification or in-depth training, we recommend attending a Zeiss Calypso class at an official Zeiss training center. This video serves as a supplementary resource, designed to provide practical insights and tips to both new and experienced users alike.
    Challenge Overview:
Our tutorial is structured around a comprehensive challenge, ensuring you learn to:
    Measure dimensions and tolerances including:
    1. Location (X-Value, Y-Value) and size (Diameter) of the hole at the back left corner, on top (D .325, X -.600, Y1.100)
    2. Perpendicularity of a cylinder (front center) to the primary datum plane ( [Perpendicular|.001|A])
    3. The two Cartesian Distance, hole-to-hole distances of using the three holes along the left side (Y 1.100)
    4. Simple Distance (X and Y) between the hole at the front left corner and the back right corner (X 1.200, Y 2.200)
    5. Angle between Features tolerance of 2 lines constructed from the three holes along the left side (Circle2, Circle3, and Circle4) and the three holes that run diagonally across the block (Circle4, Circle1, and Circle5) (28.6 degrees)
Note: Use a 3D Line, and “Recall” the features.
    6. The over all width and length of the Block using Symmetry Points (X 2.000, Y 3.000).
    7. True Position with MMC of the 5 holes on the Right side of the block ([True Position|Ø.014M|A|B|C])
Note: Use a “1D Linear Pattern”
    8. Overall thickness (Z-Value) of the block using a Point. (Z -1.000)
    9. Profile the plane on the back side of the block ([Profile|.0005|A|B|C])
    10. Flatness of the top plane ([Flatness|.0001])
We create the Measurement Plan from CAD, and then Run it in simulation, with a Pi web Printout.
Navigate through the creation and execution of a measurement plan with a focus on real-world application and problem-solving.
