I first saw the F-15 fly in 1973 when I was stationed in Thailand with the US Air Force ... it was just a few years later the F-16 was being introduced to the AF. Here it is 2019 - more than 40 years later - and both of these airframes are still serving. They are magnificent machines!
I was a F16 mechanic for 18 years of my career in the Air Force. I worked in the Phase Inspection Section. I became a work leader and a supervisor. I joined the Air Force in 1978 and not long after these were in the inventory. Retired 19 years ago. Awesome! Miss those jets.
Incredible plane and incredible pilot. Manueverability wise there's almost nothing that can turn and roll and pull sustained G like a clean Viper. The cockpit video was unbelievable - the way it starts and stops a manuever with total knife edge precision, the humongous cockpit view (still the best). And still one of the best looking aircraft. Not one curve wrong on it. It has an ageless look. You've got one skilled pilot at the cockpit there too -- that takeoff was crazy!
The F16 has 6 years on my age but every time i watch a display it's like visual classical music,. Those lines and curves maybe nearly 37 years old , yet prove that form is temporary, CLASS is PERMANENT. RIAT 2019 is looking great now.
Still just as wicked fast and agile no matter how old it is! My first introduction to the F-16 was the Thunderbirds. I also really liked the Iron Eagle movies.
Iron Eagle 1 and part 2 is shown in the Philippines. There are so many F16s in the Clark air base. Sad that it can no longer in the service,.Agile fast n furious. Falcon..hehehe..
Saw a squadron of these at high altitude doing a very loud flyover in my residential. They was gone is a flash after elevating at a leisurely pace. Impressive. Thanks to local AFB I get to catch glimpses of them from time to time as well as Raptors and Super Hornets. I love Fighters.
