Thanks for the subtitles! I don't speak German and I like hearing different languages.
+ahabtheplant It's because Germans have a very difficult time speaking English these days due to all the dubbing that occurs in all their movies and television. Mind you, they typically have studied English in school 6-9 years...
I'm laughing my arse off over here at the the degenerates that can't read subtitles
+mart3h I imagine not being able to read in modern society would be close to not being able to walk.
I watch subtitled movies. but its nice to be able to watch someone prepare food without having to read subtitles too. not for me
+mart3h I think the same thing when I hear Germans complain that the reason they don't want to have subtitles, and dub everything instead because they "don't want to read"...
One thing the internet has taught me is how poor most people's reading comprehension seems to be. I honestly don't even really notice the subtitles.
I'll be the first to admit I'm a slow reader. I'm the guy that pauses the explanations at the start of movies. But I read and write well when I try. Just slow.
Don't know why but I really enjoyed this.
The ending was surprisingly funny. To see German's let down their guard is an enjoyable thing to witness.
The host was fantastic
I guess you really are what you eat. Dude is a soft and tender boar piglet all wrapped up in a bittersweet roll. ;)
I'm enjoying these videos all the same though.
Mate, I love this guy.
Awesome i remember the teacher at 12:00 , had a lesson with this guy in roman gladiator arena with my schoolclass, he is a badass for sure :D
Lmao at 16:41. "I'll go back to the basement now." So awkward and funny!
Great series. I live there (Trier) and love the region.
The restaurant dude is chills as fuck until the host started mention the pizza and he just went full trigger mode, haha
im teaching myself German, and i really enjoy these types of videos, very helpful.
can anyone tell me the Difference between Swiss German and regular?
like the difference between irish and american accent, more or less
Johny K thats it? just the accent. cause many places where you pick a language, it shows Swiss German and German, which alwaysed confused me
+100vasiliy you could consider irish a seperate language aswell i guess :) its a very different accent but still works kinda the same
+Johny K also a lot of people in switzerland speak french/italian, depends on the region
+100vasiliy swiss german is a alemannic dialect of the german language and not an accent. Dutch is also a dialect of the german language, but very different (I, as a german, can only understand ~15% of it). German dialects are also very different to one another. But most german dialects are not spoken in their purest form any more. E.g. in most parts of northern germany only the common german language is used with some accent from the original dialect of those regions.
Arg, best Munchies ever but it's making me homesick for the Rheinvalley
kinda weird seeing a culinary report on Germany without Beer Being featured , defiantly learned somethings new today in regards to the Moselle valley region
+eirik nystrom and there is even more to discover
Jan Kruger, Badass Gladiator
I have to go with my grandparents and other relatives every year to this region in Germany, and it truly is one of the most boring and dull places to ever visit. Besides from the pleasant nature walks and stuffing yourself with the most calorie dense foods ever that is. People over there eat that all day every day and you can tell because most of them are overweight.
"Just like a swinger club" ahahahahaha
that is the coolest jacket I've ever seen
I also found myself impressed by his fashion sense.
I think he's an assassin
Fuck yeah, finally a german edition of "munchies guide to"
I fucking love this channel
I really like the architecture.
"Jan Kruger- Has A Sweet Tooth"
this was new and different! i likey
Can you guys please do a Munchies episode with Adam Sobel from the Cinnamon Snail truck? He is so funny and great and creative you have to do a chef's night out with him!!!
Seit wann arbeitet eigentlich der Bruder von Mc Fitti bei Vice?
Awesome! I didn't know some Roman culture was still being kept by people that does not live in italy!
+Diego Díaz rome qounqured half the world for over 2000 years. its no only Italy that has roman culture, even though Rome is in italy
+100vasiliy The Roman Empire only lasted approximately 500 years. From 31 BCE (before common era) to 476 CE(common era).
+Nash Robertson Don't be so pedanitc we all knwo that before Augustus Rome was a Republic but in the context it is clear what Vasiliy meant.
+TheHanspeter8 How meticulous of me to tell someone that they are off by over a thousand years. I wasn't scrutinizing him I was just providing him with information. Is there a problem with me correcting someone in a polite manner on the internet?
I wish we had drinking songs in the us that everyone knew
Lol the ending was funny... You get used to the subtitles after like 3-4 minutes in.
Pax Romana, where the barbarians of Germania were taught to surrender their swords, and stop their petty tribal wars, in exchange for wine cups and drinking like a sir by the Romans.
And everybody who didn't comply was taken by imperial enforcers, and sent to the lions as entertainment for the Empire :D
i love it something from my par of the word
thought he was going to Mosul at first.
OMG link to the gladiator school???????????
Please Munchies do Episodes about what really represent Germany and our food culture and not about some tourist attractions. When you want to see some germans in costumes come to my hometown Cologne in February and shoot the carnival.
+Dan iel How long does that carnival last for and is there a lot of beer :D
+KingDennisJensen It's to long to explain here. Official the season starts at November 11th but the Street Carnival is 7 full days in February. It starts on Thursday 11:11 AM till the next week Wednesday night. And yeah a lot lot lot lot lot lot of beer :D 7 days where the whole city is in costumes and drunk ;)
+KingDennisJensen actually there´s no beer, just something the peasants from cologne regard as beer. They call it "Kölsch"
+Karl Raszur Aww from where are you? Second Bundesliga 15th place or First Bundesliga last place ^^ ?? You're not forced to drink the local brew, you can drink your "pils" or "alt" or whatever you prefer but you know that already
Cool! I want to visit Germany and will probably do so on one of those festivals. Either Octoberfest or the one in February like you said. From Canada to Germany, maybe I can learn a little German too.

it's funny how people enjoy the german host and I as a german disliked this episode for the lack of english !
Great episode nonetheless !
Wait what? they use their feet to press the grapes and the juices is used to make wine? That's kinda disgusting!
+Maxwell A In fact that's how wine is traditionally made all around the world.
That is nothing new
+Maxwell A I hope you're kidding, btw cows are not purple and animals actually cannot talk as you see in the movies.
there was an alarming dearth of hot chick's on this munchies
this video made me want to learn a 2nd language.
