That Tarantula Collective label advise 😂😂😂
No shade intended, i love The Tarantula Collective, his photography is above reproach. I do not know how he gets the photos he gets. The guy is amazing.
So the white stuff is definitely a fungus, I've gotten it on the dry tops of plant soil and in some of my invert enclosures as well!! The good news is that it's completely harmless and usually happens when you have a moist layer of soil on the bottom with a dry couple of inches on top. I wouldn't worry about it too much, but occasionally just scraping out the soil with the fungus on it can help
Solved all my problems I was wondering what it was cause it clearly wasn’t mold in my tanks but I can see it looks more like her
Ive had it in my isopods and it seems harmless. Springtails will prob eat it
This is super helpful! I had that white stuff in my G. Actaeon enclosure before I rehoused it onto reptisoil and I was afraid it was a form of white mold
Put the clay balls on the bottom of the tank like Dave’s Little Beasties and you won’t get that bottom soil staying perpetually wet
I was going to say it looks a lot like mycelium on the surface.
The random molted leg in the brachypelma enclosure 😅
thought i was the only one that seen the leg, lol, :)
LOL! I died laughing when I saw it because I'm also guilty of having one leg molt chillin in my T. stirmi's enclosure. It fell off when I hurriedly took out it's last molt and I wasn't brave enough to retrieve it.
When me and my best mate find out we both watch you! How funny, we both dont really like spiders either haha 😁
I don’t know how I got here…but I’m obsessed with your channel even though I’m scare of spiders 😂
Congratulations cat on reaching a new level of subscribers that's awesome. Keep up the good work
Hiii Kat’! Just sending love from Texas 🤍 You have no idea how much you reduce my anxiety and help me chill out with your videos! Thank you for all that you do 🥺
LOOK AT THE BACKGROUND AT 4:21 lol he getting it on
The white will form on top of dirt in flower pots watered by tap water... I have no idea about springtails. Try using rain water or spring water to see if it makes a difference. I am lucky to live where I can have a rain barrel for my plants. I even collect it for over winter.
Hey love watching ur videos fro. The UK
Your bird eating spider is so cool
I need an updated video of you watering the tarantulas! Especially the mean one 😅
The white stuff is mildew white dusty powdery looking, yep
I had a small cleaning business so I'm a mold/mildew guru, lol
Yeah that type grows in house plants if they are over watered for any length of time.
You might wanna check on the T that didn't move to eat. Didn't look so good. Actually looked like it had mold spores on it 🥺
Love the laugh in the background 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I love feeding videos. They’re the best! This may not help, because I know the soil you use is not mulch. However, several weeks ago, we mulched around our house with dark black mulch (my husband picked it, I always get regular brown mulch) but, it’s started turning white like that. My neighbor, which is a landscaper, said it’s not mold, it’s just where the mulch and soil is loosing some of its color from rain and watering plants and it’s normal...just a thought. It made me think of our mulch because it looks the same.
Eric is right its scale from your tap water
I get thats stuff on top of where I water my plants
Eric (mr tarantula kat) laugh got me. 😂😂😂
Look at those happy camel spoods! That's what I look like with cake. But watching the dark one was so cool! You could see it's insides working away. Sorry you weren't able to get footage of them catching their meal. Next time!
Those boxes are so small, i feel quite sorry for spiders imprisoned in these...
to be honest, those stirmi fangs actually terrify me. 10:30
THEY ARE SO BIG
Steindachneri pronouncitation if anyone is interested: Shh - tiny (but without the y at the end) - duck - neri
The "ch" in dach is not really a k sound but I don't think that sound exists in English, so the k sound comes closest
I honestly think the camel spiders eating will give me nightmares ... that was so weird
What size tarantula crib is ur bird eater in? I only see they have 12,8,8 but that looks alot larger then that.
What was the name of the all black aphonopelma? I tried finding it but im thinking she had the second part wrong. The marxi is not that dark neither is the one named after Johnny Cash... but I have a collection within my collection of all black Ts but no aphonopelma black like that
Chlorine white spots .I never use tap water .I don't think my spring tails or isopode like it
it looks like mildew, appears due to moisture and stuff i don't believe it's a problem - only to people that may have allergies, but that's about it. Get it on a good amount of my houseplants. If enough of it appears it actually deters those annoying fungus gnats lol.
How can I get the enclosure you have Zelda in
u cant
I went from 1 to 7 really quick whoops😂🤣my poor b hamorii has lost a leg and a what looks like both fangs☹
The white stuff is mineral deposits (mostly calcium) wicked up to the surface of the substrate from evaporation, happens in any moist enclosures from tap water. It's ugly but totally harmless.
It's mold
When you say she hasn't been fed in a while, how long is a while or how often do they usually feed?
once a week
Good video but I felt a sad for the Corn Worm. At the end of the day, it still has a life. I'm glad the Rats are already dead when I feed them to my Ball Python.
the rats also had a life
@@maximilianzaff2517 Yep and that's the one thing that would make me never have a snake again so I can't argue with you
Hi Kat! I know what that white stuff is growing in your dirt. It is a fungus but it’s harmless. I grow cacti from seed and I’ve had that multiple times. You can just lightly scratch it off with one of your tools.
THANK U
You’re welcome 😊
Worm: Damn nature, why'd you make me look like candy.
Just got my first tarantula today 🥰 🕷
yay congrats
It won't be your last tarantula I guarantee it.
For sure won't be the only in your collection for very long 😆 congrats though they are awesome creatures
My boyfriend wont be happy 🤭🤭
@@marsdoria189 definitely not.I stared with one now I have five, plus many other spiders and inverts.
Hi kat happy Saturday congratulations on getting 100,000 subscribers you are the best 💪💯👍💯💯💯💯
I just wanted to say that I really love your channel and I have a new found love, respect and appreciation for spiders! I watched dozens of your videos in the last 2 days and it is helping me through a rough time right now. Thank you ❤️
yay thank you 😊
@@tarantulakat I love your channel
You probably figured it out by now - but I think the white "stuff" is from water evaporation, the minerals left behind. I live where the water is hard and I get the whities on the substrate as well. Nothing much to worry about - I switched to store-bought RO water for my Ts.
These worms are so cute, i dont know how i feel about this lol
Same! I bought some for my bearded dragon once and my son and I felt so bad afterwards we decided to never buy them as feeders again 🤷🏽♀️ They're just so cute
Hi Kat and love your video In the first one
I was adding substrate to my gramastola pulchripes and I had to chase it before my cats pounced on it. Thankfully I’ve learned from you, Kat and Richard to always have a catch cup. Also got to see that it is a male. Named him Tiny
OMG why did you put those animals in glass cages? They should be in the wild, free to frolick in the prairies, take a gondola ride in Venice or storm the Capitol!
There, I left you one of those comments so you don't miss the haters too much until they eventually creep out of their burrows and start with their holier-than-thou nonsense (as they always do)
Maaaan I thought you were serious! 🤣
@@amandaz9762 Lol. A tarantula riding a gondola would be a sight to behold, though
Ngl if a hoard of tarantulas stormed the capital I would just let them do it I hail our new overloards
@@midgematic8659 Lol, imagine having an OBT as president. Think how crazy it would be if the US were run by a not very smart orange thing that threat-poses everyt.... wait a second!
😅 Omgosh!
Too stinking funny! She gets all creeped out from the
Worm/Beetle ..🪲
Especially , considering that she loves huge hairy "TARANTULAS"
('Shivers') crawling all over her.
Funny how 🤔 people react to different situations, etc..
Maybe crust from hard water? Or stuff from the water leaching out. I wrote this and then u said how SMART UR HUSBAND IS
I'll get that same "white stuff" on the soil of my potted plants too. I thought it was mold too, but don't really know what it is. I would appreciate if you would do an update on it in a future video, if you figure out what it is.
I get the same thing in my plant pots I can’t remember the same but I think it’s a type of fungus
Old soil can become whit-ish due to calcium and salts building because of watergifts, the difference between mold must be visible under a microscoop, salts should have that cristal like appearance
@@gazepskotzs4 What would you consider "old soil"? All of my potted plants haven't been in their pots for a year yet.
@@nomad_five7637 it depends on the amount of calcium your water contains, more calcium means more white salt rest.
It happens too with terracotta flowerpots, they display calcium on the outside of the pot.
@@gazepskotzs4 Then I would say it's high calcium levels in my water. All of my flower pots are plastic.
Hey kat I have a Airzona Blonde to and she is gorous and her name is Shorty and she's my favorite Trachula PS Julie love all of your Trachulas to I think Trachulas are awesome and very fun to watch especially when they grab there prey
Aaahhhhh the camel spiders scare me but i love your vidoes too much to mind 😅
😂😂 1:38 DYING that you put in that clip of Richard 🤧🤣😂 love u guys
Those worms look like they're wearing 1990's track suits
6:09 I burst out laughing at the heads of these spiders-idk why but the head wiggling as it eats just got to me
Feed Zelda what's new you're tarantula bird feeder what's the weather tarantula
I just be getting used to regular spiders and tarantulas I don't like the look of that Camel but it's scary lol I have eight local spiders they don't bug me
Me either 😣 it's abdomen pulsates. They're just gross all around. Seeing them hunt is horrifying too! They friggin jump on their pray. I accidentally saw one jump on a innocent little mouse 🐀 The mouse was squinting it's eyes and had it's little paw up knowing what was coming. I clicked off as soon as the camel spider jumped. I couldn't do it 🥺
@@lisamaynard9304 they do got to eat to and must be needed on earth but they not cute like a jumper lol ✌💖😁🕷🕸
Spiders seem to think in exclamation points xD
I'm listening to you feed your spiders while I'm at home feeding my spiders!!
I lost track of the number of times I've watched your gummyworms vids, and now we have one more for the library ! You'll need a gummyworm playlist soon :)
Your T. Apophysis has the cutest little pink feets I’ve ever seen!!! Another great video, Kat! 🖤
Another fabby vid hunni.......as always huge huggles from Scotland uk 🏴🤘🏴🤘🏴🤘
I like gummy worm takedowns. They're so slow so you can really appreciate every movement they make.
hello its already Sunday here from PH
I'm a Californian ...
I had a nasty surprise a few weeks ago- found a wind scorpion (sun spider) in my room, nipped my finger and woke me up.
Turns out there are a few species here. Sun spiders aren't exclusive to Africa!
And yes, I released the little bastard outside, but it DID startle me to within seconds of shitting myself.
Grats on 100k sub's kat!
Young lady, or Miss Kat, before it happens, please take note.
At 4:22 on this video, your back was turned towards the living room sofa, while you were preparing those two blue worm things. A strange figure was on your couch.
Now to me, it looked like a dog; specifically, a poodle of some breed. I’m not sure. Before this happens, please be on point.
I can just guess someone out there will notice the same illusion, but they will somehow shoot that short segment to a channel called “Slapped Ham”. It’s a British paranormal channel that basically shows videos of the unexplained and miscellaneous activity.
Bet ya this video of yours will be shaved down to the dog on your couch, and focused on the “dark, shadowy figure”. So, as the narrator Callen of Slapped Ham would say…
“Let’s have a look…just like this.”
Pupated superworms remind me of the Baby alien that comes out of the guys stomach in the movie "ALIEN" with Sigourney Weaver soooo GROSS!!!! LMAO 😂😂😂
Springtail pool party!
Nice save after you lost the camel spider recording. Some great footage!
Her giant bird eating spider saying FEED ME .. FEED ME NOOOOOOOW! and she's like " Zelda is really hungry for food lets do her last"..... Spider goes in the huff with a dissapointed pikachu face!.
What ARE those green worms????I feed my four miscreants just crickets right now....bit so Dee.if they would ?I!e these green worms???
Hi Kat! This was a very cool video, my favorite part was your music choice to accompany the camel spider meals. Zelda is awesome, I am kind of partial to the big kids. Another great video from my favorite UA-camr.
I rather enjoyed that musical accompaniment as well.
I do hope Tarantula Cribs starts producing that XL enclosure that you have Zelda in. I would really like something like that for my female T. blondi when she's bigger.
Doggy humping something in the background 4:21 lol LOVE your videos!!
Hahahaha!! “Ew, I don’t like it!”😂😂😂 That was good! Yup, give me a room full of tarantulas any day!
"I know which spider I would not want to be fed to". Yeah, any of them.
Begs the question Kat, which spider would you feel comfortable being fed to?
Doesn't matter what's goin on in Congress, Ms. T Kat has her ears and eyes on the spider kingdom.
Let me just tell you right now, I'll be the first to admit it, I am one to kill spiders if I see them, they scare me!! Thats mainly because I know absolutely nothing about them, I always think if I don't kill it, its gonna kill me (never the case). Honestly I have enjoyed watching your videos the past couple days and learning about these little dudes, watching them eat, watching you unbox them, and just seeing how they react to you makes me more comfortable. So thank you. 😊
5:24 That worm's cache of give-able fucks was totally depleted.
"steindachneri" is quite hard to pronounce I guess. A german last name (probably another researcher having their name used, there are quite a few). "stonerooferi" would be the english translation, that's a lot easier to pronounce for you lol
Austrian, actually! Franz Steindachner was a zoologist, ichthyologist, and herpetologist, died in 1919 and has a ton of species named for him. Pronounced stine-dock-nur-ee 😉
Awesome video. Do you think Tarantula Cribs will be releasing those big enclosures to the public soon? Asking for an 8-legged friend
I use to have that on the dirt of my plants. It's fungus. I dont know if it harms your spiders, my plants don't mind it. But for beauty purpose I change the dirt. Because it doesn't look very nice. I would change the whole enclosure. Even with bioactive enclosures you have to change it once in a while...
First part of trying to cure my Arachnophobia, towards any spiders bigger than a 50p coin. Behaviour therapists are too expensive lol 😂
Hi! I really like your videos! I'm sad that here in Spain we don't have T's! I would like to own one, but I'm afraid of her scaping haha
My Theraphosa blondi is a glutton as well. He (maybe she, they haven’t molted with me yet, it’s apparently 3 years old?) will take like 7 crickets in its mouth at once.
It's spider poop or web buildup, most likely web buildup I get the same thing with my red Island Birdeater's.
So, those camel spiders just totally proved my belief that spiders when eating just suck the insides out to be false, they actually do eat and fully consume their prey. My ignorance is clear, but I'm learning thanks to your channel.
*immediately checks comments about the white stuff because Ive had it too lol I occasionally mix up the soil when my T’s distracted, I haven’t had it come back since ☺️
Loves tarantulas, freaks out over worms. 🤷♂️
Very interesting video. Can I just ask though, why do you feed live worms to the spiders and not dead ones. It’s just a little sad , watching you feeding the wriggly guys to a waiting hungry spider. 😢😩
Hi there! I am about to adopt a tarantula..! So I am studying. I wonder what is this blue colored worm is. I’d like to feed it to my babies. Can you let me know..?
The white stuff could be chalk from the water. I have that sometimes if I water my plants with fresh tap water from the top and not from the bottom. I am acutally pretty sure about it because it looks exactly the same and is dry. (It's not dangerous, pretty normal for tap water)
Hey Kat. I caught a jumping spider maybe two months ago and have been keeping it as a pet. Her name is couch. It has been brought to my attention she is now sitting in a more dense nest and she is protecting an egg sack. I don’t really want a whole bunch of babies around. Do you have any advice for me ? Because I’m sorta at a loss here.
That super worm IS totally GROSS!!
the white stuff on the soil could be a few things.. if its anything like with houseplants.. it could be minerals and such from the tap water that's not being absorbed by the soil, I see this with houseplants that are watered from the top.. could also be a type of beneficial mold/fungus produced by the soil although this I tend to see between the soil and the pot.. although when in doubt, throw it out.. :)
Sometimes I wonder that females shouldn't compare themselves with spider's of course or they can stay outside with others because that's where I grow my spider's as well because the way it looks females got like driver's license and car and that's not natural for spiders to drive around 🤣😂🤣 + there is so many more animals in this planet we should be worrying about I think they manage on their own birds would use spider webs to get food and we could eat bird's like we do if we look chicken or goose or whatever that's why I don't get extra worried about spiders I tried to leave them in natural environment but it is nice hobby to look after animals and mother nature and I think that's what we should be doing and of course educate and think about others to have longer life humans should be in to agriculture or now in modern century it's already made easier for everyone and we can get our food from store's and market's witch is better for outcome I think and spiders in natural environment would but up a web and catch flies and other insects who would shit on top of our food or get there otherwise so I consider them as friendly insects of course there's different types of spiders.
My slings enclosures started developing the white stuff around their water dishes and decor (cleaned crystals and shells) I’m guessing it’s just fungus and it doesn’t seem to affect the slings at all:)
Just wanted to let you know that the video is blurry. The camera wouldn't focus. 🙄
Where can i find an affordable grammastola pulchra thats also from a good breeder/website?
Wow, your biggest spider literally crushed that worm to death. noice.
i dont know if this question has been answered before but im an avid gardener/houseplant person, and i use tap water for my plants and they get these hard white dusty deposits on the soil and leaves too, from what ive learned is it could be calcium from your water, an excess that is pretty much harmless to the plants/ bugs, i hope that helps you!
