Got my hands on one of the 899 ST crackle finish warlock. Changed the bridge to a super distortion. Great guitar. Now they go for a decent chunk. Keeping mine forever!
the ones in the 70s were great like what aerosmith played I played alot of junky 80s guitars still the ironbird and warlock are 2 of the coolest designs especially for metal
I bought a very good condition Mockingbird Contour fully bound gold top on Reverb last year and got a killer deal. Made in 2015 I have only ever seen one other for sale, she is a keeper.
Neil Girardo had a signature Eagle model that came out a few years' ago that was a really neat design; it had a Bigsby on it, along with a series of mini-switches that were coil taps and in-phase out of phase, if I'm remembering right.
Excellent B.C. Rich collection. Please show off your other collections and inventory more. P.S. NJ stands for Nagoya Japan; however, not all NJ BC Riches were made in Japan.
Awesome! My first guitar in 1988 was a BCR Warlock. Black with neon green crackle paint. Had a floyd on it! Awesome guitars! That headstock is a warlock. W for Warlock.
4:44 The Mockingbird FR Plus was presented for the first time at Namm 2014. 10:36 Yes, it's the Widow-Headstock. I am considering having my Platinum Ironbird painted sugar apple red. The smaller bodies are from the 80s and early 90s. The shapes were modified again and again. I have a custom case for my 90s-Warlock and my Warlock FR Plus doesn't fit.
My experience with them: beautiful guitars back in the day with so many wiring options stock--on late 70s-80s Bichs especially. Their 90s mass produced NJ stuff I like to upgrade. Their quality control on their lower end stuff went down and their prices on their higher end stuff really went up in the 00s and 10s as they lost market share and nearly went bankrupt. Their action is low and playability is very nice. Their only downside is their aggressive shapes are often unbalanced and are prone to neck drop. I'm more of a Jackson/LTD guy, so those who know more about BC Rich than me, please chime in. I'd love to know more. It's just hard these days to find a used BC Rich with a Floyd Rose at a moderate price for upgrading at around $1000-1200 total budget. It seems they're all super expensive or the super cheap tribal Kerry King ones from the 00s and 10s. I also have a 7 string tune-o-matic Outlaw from the 90s or 00s that is very nice. I don't often associate BC Rich with 7 string models. As far as BC Rich basses, they are one of the few manufacturers to offer dual P bass pickup designs in a traditional stagger pattern as opposed to the reverse P style used by Charvel and Jackson on their P bass copies. That is certainly a plus. But the Warlock basses are also bad about neck drop. The Mockingbird is probably my favorite since for health reasons I have to play sitting down. It's very similar feeling to a Jackson Kelly in that the Mockingbird sits on the thigh nicely without a lot of neck drop. Most Vs and BC Rich shapes are kind of a pain to play sitting unless one cinches the strap up very high. BCs are very much a looks over comfort kind of guitar and better for playing standing, I think. Some people might move the strap knobs to a different location than the factory versions, but I'm not a woodworker.
I just sold an 83 N.J. Rich Bich like a metallic red. If it says made in Japan on the neck plate you got a good one. Not busting Dane but these B.C. Rich are the cheap Chinese ones, he knows what he has. Had it for about 25 years and sold it because I was not playing it anymore to many guitars. Original case I got $500 for it on Marketplace. First 6 hours got about of 15 messages. I only payed $175 for it from a thrift store. Made in Nagoya factory. Probably could have gotten $700-$1000 for it. Good luck with it, it's a good guitar, but it has to say made in Japan, 84 was the last year made in Japan and have heard later in 84 they were running out of parts so later that year there could be some cheap one.
Love what your doing. I've been working on my own guitars for about 45 years. I would love to open a used guitar shop here after I retire. Keep up the great work.
the 007 i did one that was given to me to do what evert i wanted or could think of from a friend i had gotten 3 guitar this is one i taked to Niel Moser about this one becaouse of tyher controls it had. but whjuat you said about the Japanese brand that would excplane the dyed image or graphic it has in the wood when i stripped the paint off of it i asked glen showed him the body he ddnt know .. i thonki have pictures of it i lost 2 of my Hard drives with alotof the paint ings o did on guitars and canvases.
I really dig the green polka dot . Green is my favorite color and something as innocent as polka dots on a warlock does it for me. I’ve always wanted one of those Matt Tuck BC Rich V jr? I’m not sure the model name but it’s got a really classy looking 3x3 headstock with the old school R at the top and I’m sure most people thinks they’re hideous but I love them. Think Gibson Flying V with a Les Paul headstock and that’ll give you an idea. The stealth looks better as a bass
Got a nice little collection of Rich's there. I have have a serious collection of Rich Basses, I probably have 30~35 basses. I've been selling off a few here and there just to dwindle the collection down some. I have 5~8 Warlocks, everything from USAs, NJs, Platinum Series and even a Savage Warlock, I have an 84 Stealth just like yours, Bich Bass. I'll have to do a video one of these days.
There's a BC Rich Mockingbird for sale in a local pawn shop. Jumbo Frets, Floyd Rose, whammy bar. They want $400 I offered $300. How do I know it's not Chinese?
Most headstocks on the back in the past 20 years will say Korea, Indonesia, or China. If it only has 6-7 numbers at top of the back of the headstock, it's likely Korea mid 2000s.
9:25 This is cool l will watch the Video to see if I could identify a neck. I used to build a guitar with a guy. Refinished piano keys for back in the mid-nineties. I believe the neck was a little bit earlier than the NJ series. Nick, because it was all white with finding ebony fretboard dot inlays. And back then, he said it was vintage, and that was in the 90s. 9:25 So I thank you very much for sharing
I like the Dagger a lot. Really nice Mockingbird right after it too. Also for setting intonation on that one Floyd Rose, search for a product called "The Key" it's a small tool that helps with setting the intonation on that type. Ooh and then at 13:42 wow I love that Mockingbird too.
Love the Stealth bass! Cool BCs! I have 3 of them a Warlock, JR V Tattoo Art, and an ASM 1. Ironically the cheapest but the one played and recorded with the most is the ASM1. Very underrated super Strats for sure!
the first real guitar I bought in 81 was a custom ordered Bich 6 string with the full electronics package and painted Black Pearl. She's still with me and I probably won't ever sell her. Dane, if you'd like to meet her and maybe some of my other pointy guitars and see what happens... I'm in Phoenix
Definitely not junk! It was your Garbage to Glitter series that inspired me to fully make over and modify my bronze series Warlock and spend probably three times it’s value on it 😂 But these are great, I love your collection
I love that stealth bass as much as you do! We do seriously need to talk about what’s left of the BCR collection, there’s a few i really want Dane if still there. Obvi the Rose bridge versions. Ultra PS i could drop fill that pink pearl BCR where you moved the strap posts. You’d barely be able to tell it was ever there. Just FYI Dane! You do have a very nice bass tone and i think ymir’s a bit more than your strings but more your knowledge of how to set up a great bass amp and tone.
I still have my SOB Avenge was my main rhythm coupled with a spyder IV 75w thing still has its original pickup and can keep up with my custom Ibanez Iron label in the chug department. These are like the squire series for metal heads along with the Ibanez Gio series
I am not a BC Rich afficiando, but I do appreciate your collection Dane, and that Dagger was definitely an eye popper. Your love of BCRs reminds us of their influence and impact. Its all part of guitar history & we all have our faves. Thanks for the share!
Zimm I believe BC RICH has it's place. It's the player that makes the instrument. The greatest music can come from a board and a string. To me your taking a guitar and making improvements so a player does not have to.. we all know you have to play a lot of guitars find one that find the one that fits you. Guitars may pass coming off the line. they will always be a work in progress. One THING I have seen more recently is more people like you. By your work alone. Helping to reform the guitar industry. Remembering the more the merrier. Just getting the word out can be the hardest part. I am talking Gibson fender Martin BC RICH and so Many more unable to list. You talk about SAM ASH. MINE WAS THE 1967 MANHATTAN store. This was no frills place. With just huge tables loaded with one type of guitar on each one. KEEP ON TRUCKING. ZIMM.
The 1st decent Bass I owned was a NJ Prototype B.C. Rich. Pink and Blacc, snakeskin looking. Had EMGS in it. BC made Metal Basses and Guitars. Cost me $450. If they send me gear I play it and checc it out. They make good shredders for Metal. 🤟
@26:26 That is Class Axe Guitars in Kemptville, Ontario, Canada. Umm, I Don't think that shop has anything to do with Class Axe and BC Rich but it does have that really cool mural painted on the wall.
They look great you either dig BC Rich or you don't my local guitar shop was a dealer so they were the first guitars I fell in love with. I own a V and one of the Pro model Beast and a Korean made Bich body with a bronze warlock neck on it added locking tuners and I Love it
I really would like to have a old American walnut with maple stripe double split coil pickup mockingbird bass😊 Red silk on a bass string is not only Rotosounds ,could be GHS boomers too.
I refinished a couple of bolt on Bitches for a old friend who past. He had a trans green Neck = Through that was really a good guitar. I like high end Gibsons BUT if you like bolt-ons w Crazy colors u can build a lot of fun stuff CHEAP. Im jealous. Maybe my next phase. Like CC Deville had a LINE of Crazy colored guitars in the videos.
not a bronze series fan, but it reminds me of my high school days. hate those cheap tuners, but hey bro, it's your baby. if you have a connection to it, who's to say shit? i don't have a great collection, but my favorite guitar is a modded Ibanez GIO with the complete RG look with inverted headstock, shark tooth inlays. white with black hardware. i got it set up with full size pots, orange caps, and a coil splitter with better pups installed. I have a prs custom 24 sweetwater exclusive, a nice wolf lp copy, a jackson silver dinky with inverted head stock with cheap floyd.. and I have a schecter c7 with passive brimstones.. and I find myself playing the GIO more. so play what makes you happy. as for B.C. Rich, I've never really had the experience with the exception of a bronze warlock in high school at kid's house. Personally I love Ironbirds. always wanted one
DANE! MY DUDE! THIS IS LONGTIME, HAIL ZIMMS! HAIL THE FED UPS! I FULLY BACK THIS DUDE IN ANY AND ALL UNDERTAKINGS HE MAY ENDEAVOR! GREAT WORK MATE, TOP SHELF.
Junk? No way. They aren't my cup of tea, but if you enjoy them, that's all that matters! I definitely wanted a hot pink or neon green Warlock with a Floyd back in the eighties, when I was maybe 10 or so. I used to love geeking out over C.C.'s B.C. Rich guitars when I was a kid, haha! As I've gotten older, my tastes have changed a lot more toward the old classic Fender/Gibson style of guitars. Although, I would not mind owning that Mockingbird, minus the skull knobs and the Floyd! If you like them, then they're awesome! Oh, what do the mini toggles on that one do anyway? Coil split for each pickup, and a phase switch perhaps?
I wish we lived closer to each other because I would definitely love to show you how I paint guitars, I’m a painting contractor since 97 and so I’m kinda familiar different types of paint and how to apply them….you have some awesome guitar platforms but are not upgraded to the extent that makes them look feel and play like a $3,000 + guitar it’s not enough to rattle can some neon paint and crackle on top…..it needs to look like glass and feel smooth as glass with zero out lines of old cavities and can not ever be a bolt on neck unless it’s a supper stat like Eddies of some sort….in my opinion….. they have to be converted to set neck or neck through guitars to be believable…especially BC Rich who’s Management believed in the neck through construction as being the pinnacle of guitar construction and I would have to agree with that statement. Anyways, I know it’s a lot of work, but it’s worth it when you’re done and you get to hold it in your hand and know that you basically built it. From the comments that I read, it sounds like you’re a standup guy and the good hearted person and I would love to do the work for you ….next time I’m in AZ I’ll give you a call or stop by and see what you have in stock… take care
One more thing I know you are a guilty aficionado and don’t need me telling you how to mod a guitar …I was just trying to describe all the work I needed to be done to any new comers to guitar modding
Thank you for sharing your collection. I always hated bc rich. I also always thought they only made warlocks lol. But the newest version of the mockingbird you have with the dark glitter top is amazing. Now I really want one. How much is the black and sparkle one worth the 2006 one I think it was?
All of those low end Asian guitars need to have decent pickups and electronics installed in them, and then they are all pretty nice players. My son had the Warlock Bronze with the Widow headstock, identical to yours. I put in a Duncan Invader and it was a great sounding guitar!!
The work you've done to these guitars are every nice and your painter does a good job. The guitars themselves overall with the exception of the mockingbirds and that eagle are pretty meh. I would like to see you maybe get one of the nicer models and do some of the things you've done to these. They would turn out awesome I'm sure!
All collections are cool, especially when they are guitar collections. BC Rich is not a collection that would be of particular desire or interest for me to collect; however, it is a really nice collection of BC Rich guitars and it is your enthusiasm about the collection that makes it very cool and interesting. Definitely NOT garbage!
I have an ironbird Bronze series bought in early 90's made in California. What could i charge one for that guitar today?... No Cracks, a few scratches wich can be polished. Other than that, perfect condition. I cant find any of them anywhere, so i have no idea about the prise range...
The green ST3 is the only ST3 I saw the others are ST body shapes, I thought it was name after yhe 3 pickups as well at first but ST 1, 2 and 3 are named after the body shape, the horns are skinnier on the ST3 body shape than the original ST body shape.
My first and only Bc Rich was the bronze warlock, which I bought in the late 90s. I was (am) a huge Death fan and it was a no-brainer… The humbuckers were very noisy, from what I can remember.. but it was so cool looking!
Fraqin wow! If that Chameleon “glitter” paint job was on the Warlocks with a Rose it be amazing! I only want rose guitars Dane! These are all magnificent though! Ultra BTW My Westone had the exact early funky Rose bridge as that blue BCR does. It’s the first early rose bridges before people wanted to pull multi octaves. Dane let me know ,call or text what BCR you still have? I only want Floyd Rose bridge guitars. Thanks! Ultra
Did you sell that 83 or 84 Bich ( nj series i think) ? You did a video on it about if you should paint it or leave it it's original white. You chose to leave it original. ( Good choice imo). It was a sick guitar!
Are you selling the B.C Rich Stealth bass? My first guitar was the exact same make and model and unfortunately my older brother didn't think I should be blessed with such a beauty and took all his jealousy and anger out on my guitar.
Really nice collection of B.C.Rich’s. I used to have an ‘83 American neck-through Mockingbird. One of the best playing/sounding guitars I’ve owned. Are you selling on Reverb yet Dane??
Awesome collection!! I have several Richs myself. I have a Dagger and I love it as well as 2 Bichs, and a couple of warlocks. Your collection total rocks!🎸🎸🤘🏻🤘🏻
looking for a b.c.rich beast nj series speedloader or b.c.rich neck through zombie any one of those 2 would be great give me a price and delivery to melbourne australia
They're not at all bad guitars despite the hate they get sometimes. However I think the Bronze series sucks. Anything in the platinum series or better are pretty good. I have a platinum warlock that's still my main guitar after 25 years. Upgraded a few things on it though. I can't stand a glossy finish on any guitar neck though.
That and a Gorilla..the tube cruncher!! It wasn't a tube amp, but it said that on the front. My older brother had a Rave too. I wish I could relive those days>
I love them. When stranger things was big they also had a massive price increase for a while. Thankfully they’re back to normal now.
Got my hands on one of the 899 ST crackle finish warlock. Changed the bridge to a super distortion. Great guitar. Now they go for a decent chunk. Keeping mine forever!
the ones in the 70s were great like what aerosmith played
I played alot of junky 80s guitars
still the ironbird and warlock are 2 of the coolest designs especially for metal
Awesome collection. It's neat seeing BC Rich shapes again .
Thanks for watching!
@ZIMMSGUITARS love your videos. Hope to stop in your shop one day.
I think the Mockingbirds at 4:45 and 19:15 are from 2015. The 08 at the beginning of the serial denotes it's made at the WMI factory in Korea.
I bought a very good condition Mockingbird Contour fully bound gold top on Reverb last year and got a killer deal. Made in 2015 I have only ever seen one other for sale, she is a keeper.
Absolutely awesome! I have an old Rave series Warlock that is a project guitar. One of these days I'll get to fixing it up.
I LOVE my USA-made B.C. Rich Bich neck-through, with two octave fretboard & angled headstock with Kahler tremolo from the mid 80's.
Love your custom BC Riches! Awesome af!!!
The dagger is sic
Very Cool I wish I would have bought an Eagle back in the 70s
4:44 The Mockingbird FR Plus was presented for the first time at Namm 2014.
10:36 Yes, it's the Widow-Headstock.
I am considering having my Platinum Ironbird painted sugar apple red.

Love what your doing. I've been working on my own guitars for about 45 years. I would love to open a used guitar shop here after I retire. Keep up the great work.
Go for it!
The BC Rich Eagle looks awesome
The two mockingbirds are not 2008 the year would be the second set of numbers in the serial number, I couldnt see that clear but maybe 2014 or 2015
Thank you!!!
I have a mockingbird legacy ST... i Fn love it so much. The legacy series is where its at. It's so supposed to be what they were like back in the day.
Very Very Cool !!! I collect B.c. rich platinum series st-3's . Your B.C Rich vids are why I subbed to your channel !
Awesome! Thank you!
Always been a fan of the BC Rich Gunslinger's CC DeVille played. I remember CC had CC Rich on his head stock's.
Yup, he played a Nagel graphics Gunslinger my favorite of all BC Rich guitars.

NJ - Nagoya Japan
There's a BC Rich Mockingbird for sale in a local pawn shop. Jumbo Frets, Floyd Rose, whammy bar. They want $400 I offered $300. How do I know it's not Chinese?
Most headstocks on the back in the past 20 years will say Korea, Indonesia, or China. If it only has 6-7 numbers at top of the back of the headstock, it's likely Korea mid 2000s.

paul stanley in the crazy crazy nights tour played bc rich guitars but he had a beautiful eagle black he played for alot of the set
Love the Stealth bass! Cool BCs! I have 3 of them a Warlock, JR V Tattoo Art, and an ASM 1. Ironically the cheapest but the one played and recorded with the most is the ASM1. Very underrated super Strats for sure!
really nice collection man !!! your dagger is absolutly amazing !!!
the first real guitar I bought in 81 was a custom ordered Bich 6 string with the full electronics package and painted Black Pearl. She's still with me and I probably won't ever sell her. Dane, if you'd like to meet her and maybe some of my other pointy guitars and see what happens... I'm in Phoenix

Red silk on a bass string is not only Rotosounds ,could be GHS boomers too.
Warlocks are cool. the Dagger is extra cool. that bass. i like it, both of them. the red one was awesome but that pink one ain't bad.
The first one featured reminds me of my first guitar. It was a candy red Kramer Striker 100ST.
you have one bad ass guitar shop !!!!!!! only thing i ever found as close was atomic guitars back in maryland
That was a fun video to watch..I don't know much about B C Rich axes but was always curious about them
I appreciate your love for guitars 🤘🏿

Randy at guitar attic has a warlock body that's custom painted for sale in Florida Holly Hill Florida. Guitar Attic
Quite a contrast between the polka dots 15:08 and the classic neck-through Eagle 17:14. Both are awesome in their own way.

HAIL THE FED UPS!
I FULLY BACK THIS DUDE IN ANY AND ALL UNDERTAKINGS HE MAY ENDEAVOR! GREAT WORK MATE, TOP SHELF.
Longtime!!
Junk?
I love the Mockingbird. It's sort of like a Gibson SG. The design is perfection. I also love the 10 string Rich B*tch Legacy.
That Black Glitter Mockingbird does not have active pickups. Those are Seymour Duncan Passive Humbuckers not active EMGs.
Mr. Zimm has it wrong. Go to 17:23 in this video. NJ has always meant Nagoya, Japan not Nappan as you are calling it. 😂
I wish we lived closer to each other because I would definitely love to show you how I paint guitars, I’m a painting contractor since 97 and so I’m kinda familiar different types of paint and how to apply them….you have some awesome guitar platforms but are not upgraded to the extent that makes them look feel and play like a $3,000 + guitar it’s not enough to rattle can some neon paint and crackle on top…..it needs to look like glass and feel smooth as glass with zero out lines of old cavities and can not ever be a bolt on neck unless it’s a supper stat like Eddies of some sort….in my opinion….. they have to be converted to set neck or neck through guitars to be believable…especially BC Rich who’s
Management believed in the neck through construction as being the pinnacle of guitar construction and I would have to agree with that statement.
One more thing I know you are a guilty aficionado and don’t need me telling you how to mod a guitar …I was just trying to describe all the work I needed to be done to any new comers to guitar modding
i liked that white warlock as is. i had an old bronze warlock bass back in the day. it was my first instrument and i wish i never sold it lol
The James Bond mockingbird is damn badass, and the figured top of the plus is badass too
miss my NJ gunslinger fun guitar traded it towards my first tube amp
I'd had a Mockingbird in the early 90s it was amazing , incredible action ETC........
I like that teal mockingbird, may have to come in and take a closer look ♪
Definitely not junk man! You and I are both suckers for a nice sparkle paint job! :D
The green ST3 is the only ST3 I saw the others are ST body shapes, I thought it was name after yhe 3 pickups as well at first but ST 1, 2 and 3 are named after the body shape, the horns are skinnier on the ST3 body shape than the original ST body shape.
Nice collection of 80s greatness!
My first and only Bc Rich was the bronze warlock, which I bought in the late 90s. I was (am) a huge Death fan and it was a no-brainer…
The humbuckers were very noisy, from what I can remember.. but it was so cool looking!
Fraqin wow! If that Chameleon “glitter” paint job was on the Warlocks with a Rose it be amazing! I only want rose guitars Dane! These are all magnificent though! Ultra
BTW My Westone had the exact early funky Rose bridge as that blue BCR does. It’s the first early rose bridges before people wanted to pull multi octaves. Dane let me know ,call or text what BCR you still have? I only want Floyd Rose bridge guitars. Thanks! Ultra
Nice collection Dane!
Hey Buddy!!
Love these BC Rich guitars. Garbage to Glitter is one of my favorite series on here!
I dig 'em, Dane. RAWK!!! 🤘🏼
I have a mockingbird special x cuz it has teo humbuckers and 4 controls. Gonna get a warlock.
Did you sell that 83 or 84 Bich ( nj series i think) ? You did a video on it about if you should paint it or leave it it's original white. You chose to leave it original. ( Good choice imo). It was a sick guitar!
Sold it long ago
Maybe until I am wrong but I thought that the NJ series stood for New Jersey the state because of that is where Kramer started
Nagoya,Japan.
Awesome, are you selling in of them, if so can I pick one and you can tell me the price
Are you selling the B.C Rich Stealth bass? My first guitar was the exact same make and model and unfortunately my older brother didn't think I should be blessed with such a beauty and took all his jealousy and anger out on my guitar.
What are BC Rich guitars for, precisely, compared to other guitar brands, and why would I want one?
Not a fan of bc riches. but its cool you like em. The first one with the crackle was a really cool paint job
I like the Eagles. I had one.
Me too. I wish I had that one back!
People are smoking crack for the prices they're asking online for Bronze series Warlocks.
Also, that sparkly magenta Warlock is absolutely beautiful.
Really nice collection of B.C.Rich’s. I used to have an ‘83 American neck-through Mockingbird. One of the best playing/sounding guitars I’ve owned. Are you selling on Reverb yet Dane??
Found it!!! :)
How much for the black mockingbird steve
Hey! I have a white warlock that says Avenge on it. Can you tell me anything about it?
Love the Eagle! Didn't Paul Stanley play one?
Awesome collection!! I have several Richs myself. I have a Dagger and I love it as well as 2 Bichs, and a couple of warlocks. Your collection total rocks!🎸🎸🤘🏻🤘🏻
Billy Sheehan Plays Rotosound Bass strings
Steve Harris model I believe. Or at least he does sometimes. I'd have to think he would have his own signature strings, no?
looking for a b.c.rich beast nj series speedloader or b.c.rich neck through zombie any one of those 2 would be great give me a price and delivery to melbourne australia
Awesome! I had a warlock may years ago
Awesome! I prefer the BC Rich Eagles myself
I have a warlock I’m learning on rn and I love it
Love this collection dude
Thanks!
2 seconds in, and I can already confirm its awesome
Kids would've killed for these in 89
That and a Gorilla..the tube cruncher!! It wasn't a tube amp, but it said that on the front. My older brother had a Rave too. I wish I could relive those days>
