Jake Browning is a Folsom legend. Dude forgot to mention Browning currently owns the national passing TD record with 229. First game as a soph at Folsom he threw for almost 700 yards and 10 TDs. All of the Sacramento region is tuned in.
Difference between Lyons and Browning is Coach Doherty. The head coach when JB was at Folsom was all about throwing TDs when they were ahead and leaving him in when the #2 could have gotten reps. Coach Doherty is never going to do that. Hence why the Folsom #2 threw for a couple hundred yards and a TD this year. As soon as Folsom is in a solid lead in the second half, RL is going to leave the game. Lyons is a great teammate who cheers on the other QBs and wants them to succeed and if it was possible, would be ok with the back up throwing as many TDs and yards as he does. He doesn't really care about stats. He just wants the team to win. This year he threw for almost 3500 yards, 38 TDs with 8 INT. He also ran for 950 yards and another 23 TDs as a Sophmore, winning the Div 1A state championship last Saturday. Doherty wants kids who worked hard all year to have the opportunity to play as well and also get game experience in case whomever the starter is has to come out because of an issue with their equipment or if they are injured. The backup needs and deserves reps just incase. I didn't know Jake when he was in high school. I met him when he came home from UW at the NorCal passing academy when he came back for the summer. I had the opportunity to run him through the drills and he was hard working, attentive and wanted to be coached. I coached at a clinic he ran last summer. He is a grounded dude who spoke to the other QBs helping run the clinic like they were in the NFL and as successful in college as he was. Good guy.
Bro 12 bridges has never played Folsom. You guys have been around for two years and play weaker competition. Congrats on a playoff birth for D4 but it will be awhile till y’all are ready to schedule Folsom.
Bama’s defense EFF’ed this dude up. 1 TD drive then never smelled the red zone again. Crazy how good you can look when you have 3 great WRs and a solid RB. Makes you wonder how good the QB rlly is
