Imagine the dragon rides find themselves in Zippleback Island, where the Hideous Zipplebacks live, there happens to be Snaptrappers living there as well. After witnessing a Snaptrapper ambush and eat a spider, they discover that Hideous Zipplebacks and Snaptrappers shared a common ancestor long ago: the Zipplebacks evolved two heads so they can swoop down to catch fish, while Snaptrappers evolved four heads so they can hide in burrows and bushes to ambush smaller animals like spiders, rabbits, mice and tiny birds. This gives the heroes the perfect opportunity to hide in bushes and ambush the dragon hunters like a Snaptrapper ambushing a spider.

I think it would also be cool to have the riders being lured into the forest of the snaptrappers choccie scent, and then Toothless, Stormfly, Meatlug, Hookfang, Barf and Belch have to try and snap them out of it or block the way or something to save their lives. It would be cool for the Snaptrapper, and also have the dragons work without the riders for a chance instead of the other way around, which has happened a couple times
I will never forgive directors and writers of Riders of berk and Race to the edge for NEVER introducing Snaptrapper or Timberjack to us. Such a wasted oportunity with such a great and interesting dragon.
Actually they introduced Timberjacks. We saw them in that flock Toothless and Hiccup meet in HTTYD 2, The Book of Dragons during the first movie and in The Hidden World during the events of HTTYD.
For real!!! Them and the timberjack are the only dragons to have been essentially de-canonized. Which is so sad because they were so unique!! The snaptrapper has always been my absolute favourite since I saw this as a kid and I was so sad to see in all those years they didn’t even bring them into race to the edge 😭
Because we Getting the Live Action Remake of the First HTTYD Film and the Rumblehorn is in it (Wasn't in the Original Film) The Snaptrapper Does have a Chance to Be in a Film (Also I Wonder if the Big Dragon in the Remake will Be the Green Death or Still the Red Death?)

Snaptrappers are very beautiful dragons, even with those eyes it makes them look very flamboyant and feminine.
