State of the art of Thailand Railway modernisation at its best. It is very well connected to all parts of Thailand with an inclusion plan for future High-speed train service . From the outlook it looks like a huge modern Airport Terminal . Definitely Thailand has improved its Railway system infrastructure. I remember my trip to Bangkok in 1967 where I stop at Hua Lamphong Train Station which was an impressive station by standard of 67 and it resemblance to that of Koln Main Railway Station in Germany......! Thanks for sharing this video which was well documented and filmed .
Thank you for another nice video, showing the new trains of Bangkok. As a railway enthusiast I just love how Thailand is modernising it's railway infrastructure these years. Keep up the good work, I look forward to more videos, about trains and of course, everything else from wonderful Bangkok/Thailand.
It's good to see that they expand the skytrain and metro system into other provinces (Samut Prakan, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani) around Bangkok. I wish I could go to Thailand and get on these train rides around. Always enjoy your videos. Keep up all the good work!
That is so cool to be able to ride when everything is brand new and fresh...........nice video, really enjoyed this one.........and.......see you in your next video!
This is actually the commuter train passing Don Muang airport, not direct to the terminal. The airport rail link between Suvarnabhumi and Don Muang airports will be built later.
Realy nice the other high level Of thailand look so brand new start And ! Pretty cool ! All outside beauty sky line great day !! So Amazing video. . 😍👍
Hi, I’m from Rangsit City. In the future there will be many feeders connecting Rangsit station and other places in Pathum Thani province, e.g. Pathum Thani downtown, Future Park, Khu Khot station and Lam Luk Ka town, Museum District in Thanya Buri Khlong 6-7 (New Dusit zoo, Science Museum, Royal Arts Museum and so on). You know we’ve just got a new elected young, enthusiastic city mayor. Stay tuned...
Really great video Jeroen. I’ve learned so much from your vids. I will use your vids like a reference library when I can next visit Thailand. Though I think I will need a mode of transport to visit a lot of the places you have covered. Tony.UK. 🙏🏻🇬🇧
Bit of useless information,,my home town of Gloucester has the longest train platform in the Uk, and was the first to have an artificial ski slope which I can see from my bedroom window,,,,must of been some sort of back handers going on as your the only foreigner I’ve seen so far,,,peace and happiness as always Jeroen till the next one,,,great way to see the city and the outskirts looked really nice,,
Initially for Phase 1, the SRT [[Dark Red]] Line will run from the new Bang Sue Grand Station north for 21.6 km via Don Mueang and terminate at Rangsit in Pathum Thani Province (already completed). The line will then be extended a further 10 km north from Rangsit to Thammasat University's Rangsit campus (Phase 2). From Bang Sue Grand Station the line will be extended 11 km south via Phaya Thai to terminate at Hua Lamphong station (Phase 3). The final section of the line will run south east from Hua Lamphong for 39 km to Maha Chai in Samut Sakhon Province via Wong Wian Yai along the current Maha Chai railway alignment (Phase 4). When completed, the SRT Dark Red Line will run from Thammasat University's Rangsit campus in Pathum Thani Province to Maha Chai in Samut Sakhon Province for a total of 86.8 km. [[SRT Light Red Line]] The first 15 km section runs from Bang Sue Grand Station in Chatuchak District to Bang Son where it interchanges with the MRT Purple Line . It then continues west and crosses the Chao Phraya River to the Thonburi side of Bangkok before continuing farther west to Taling Chan where it terminates (Phase 1 - already completed). The line will be extended 12 km west to Sala Ya in Phutthamonthon District of Nakhon Pathom Province (Phase 2). Finally, the line will be extended south from Bang Sue via Phaya Thai and then east to Hua Mak Railway Station in the east of Bangkok where it will interchange with the MRT Yellow Line (Phase 3). The total is 58.5 km.
Nice. I wonder how late this train will run. I used to get the last Air Asia flight of the day from Phuket (cheaper), and walk to a guest house in Don Muang. Breakfast at the Amari link bridge cafe & train/bus into the City. Hopefully I'll be able to reach a hotel further south by 1am next time?
Wow. By July, when most travel would return (I hope so, I'm planning to visit by then), the Don Mueang Airport would be connected by train to the city. That's great news!
So initially Don Muang - Bang Sue. Then Airport Line to main airport gets extended to Bang Sue.. and later on the express line to Don Muang and further north. Any idea of rough timings.
nice update, it is going see some major developments i guess along the lines have you information on the next phases? i often wonder what the cost difference is in building new infrastructure in the sky as opposed to the ground level and the thais must have some sort of patent as they are addicted to those giant Y shaped columns
Just because middle single column is preferred when building over existing highway to save space. And yes ... save cost by not buying land, build it over existing Right of way or highway.
As you can see from this map, it'll stretch to the North toward Thammasart University and South West toward Samut Sakhorn www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=zSbVIV3VQBAI.kCSl0l77hWqg This map was made years ago, so some lines on displayed here might already be outdated.
Don muang srt station is donmuang airport? If not how can i go duangmang airport from metro? Is there a link by metro or skytrain between duanmang airport and international airport. Thanks from belgium
About 10 minutes from Bang Sue to Don Muang is impressive! I wonder how long it will take once you have to stop at all stations. I think they also have those walls up to stop you being able to see anything sensitive, they have them on sections of the green line extension when it passes Air Force / Army bases.
Those walls are sound reflecting wall, uses in area where residential building or condominiums are close to the train tracks… international standard. It uses also in some sensitive area such as military offices or government offices.
So nice, SRT station in Rangsit is FINALLY opening!
Lucky you guys had the privilege of riding the train, and taking us on the journey with you guys.
Brian 🤣👍 one large Coke zero.

Very interesting and informative video, I would definitely be taking trips using the train
Soon, Thailand will be able to use the sky train to link 3 airports.
The max operating speed is actually 145 kmh when it reaches the ground level. On the elevated track it is 120 kmh.

Ahhh, it looks great. Going to be absolutely transformational for areas along the line.
I saw some blue plates with yellow arrows on. Dos this line have ETCS Level 2? (Or is it called here ATCS Level 2?)
So initially Don Muang - Bang Sue.
Then Airport Line to main airport gets extended to Bang Sue.. and later on the express line to Don Muang and further north.

it made from Japan.
you always could take the train to don muang, but it is very infrequent and slow - but cheap!
Yes correct, you can already take the train. But if you are on a time schedule, it's not that convenient.
