I have watched so many videos on UA-cam where it looks like the ladies just went to Target and bought everything for their home in the one trip. Cute spaces, but they look like everyone else’s homes and lack the special touches that come from collecting and mixing eras and styles. I understand what you mean about getting everything from one store. It can look more like an Ikea showroom instead of YOUR nephew’s room.
I love the “grandpa” look! Browsing the antique stores would be so fun to decorate a little boy’s room. A room that can grow with them!
I feel like “roll arm” might be the term you were looking for when you were trying to describe the arms of those sofas.

Brandy, this was one of my favorite ikea shop with me. The thought process in your head on choosing decor, furniture and all the things to makeover a space gave me so much inspo. I love that you are thinking of mixing patterns that honestly made sense to me when I saw the vision in the store. For the bedding and pillow cover, I say buy it now Girl. My Ikea tends to sell out fast and not restock when I need what I'm looking for. Know you said it won't be awhile until you travel but the green and the blue combo, you can't go wrong. Show us the process from start to finish including the moodboard 😊👌🏽

I believe the sofa style you were referring to is a Chesterfield style sofa. They are beautiful.

The bow back dining chair you looked at that you said everyone had in the 90s, they did. I got mine in the 80s. It is a classic early American design that's been popular consistently for over 300 years. They are often built by Amish craftsman, which is where I got mine. Usually made of oak, the IKEA one was a different kind of wood so it had a fresher look.
My nearest IKEA is about 4 & 1/2 hours away. I love when you take us with you. I REALLY liked that first cabinet!! Btw, the air didn’t bother me at all 😉. “I really just wanted to come to IkEA”… hahaha.
Brandy…I have never been to IKEA, so this showed me exactly what to expect when I do….make it there!!!
Our closest IKEA Store is about an hour away from us.

I’m having this struggle with my son’s room right now. I just asked him what is favorite color was and he said “blue”. I said I thought it was green and he said it was both. 😂 But when I asked him about black he said “no, it’s too dark.” So I think they do already have their preferences at 3. ❤
