This evening I'm inviting you to a secret place. It's the only place (or game) where Indiana Jones is putting his dukes up and boxes! lol
In a probably very less known fact, that in the graphic adventure game 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade' (1990), there is a mini-game present here at the start of the main game. This is a place I've spent many hours as a kid fighting that college guy in the boxing ring (because I didn't have that much money for new games or my parents wouldn't get me). I think my experience shows, as I go a full half-hour with it on all offered difficulty skills.
The AI computer opponent is actually quite good here I think, and especially for 1990! It is a doable and accurate difficulty skill (for the 3 offered: easy, medium and hard). I am unsure if the computer AI is learning from you, it seemed to me that on the last hard difficulty, although I kinda defeated it more easily at first, but as I kept playing, it was my impression that it got a bit harder as time went on. Hmm idk haha
You can have fun watching me fight here or go for it yourself if you own the game lol (in case you didn't know you can do it). In any case, it is a very fun addition and diversion from the main game I think. As a kid, I had really wanted this fighting element to expand and evolve more in concept (and graphics) in the next game (Fate of Atlantis), but ultimately there was no boxing gym with sparring partner present in that game.
So if you wanna see Indiana Jones box, it can only be seen or done in this game tho =] Lastly, I think it was pretty great to have this game within a game and it's pretty funny to see Indy wear his iconic fedora hat in the boxing ring haha
