The thing is,
Everyone wants to “make it” but they’re not willing to put up any money. It’s like any business, it has an overhead. Stop shooting music videos in an alley with your android. Stop dropping music recorded on a $20 mic. Start INVESTING YOUR BREAD IN QUALITY. Work in perfecting your craft & learn everything you can about marketing. Create brand equity & then use that as leverage. Go get it .
Too many of us like to pay for music gear more than twice versus investing into quality gear. You get what you pay for. ✊🏿

Not everyone who's listening and learning, are young folks. Not only are they the ones who would benefit from this information. What about older artists, or are people truly believing that they are either established, or that their dream has passed them by? I don't think so. Those people who buy music before, eventually grow up, and still, at times, buy music...

Had to pause this to give ya'll perspective here. This is A LOT of good info...HOWEVER....this is AN EMORMOUS ASK of an artist to do this. This is why a TEAM is critical, management, pr, etc. Managing relationships is 90000% the game. However to ask an artist to do this is almost IMPOSSIBLE......keep your head space in the creation of your money horse. Make music. FIND YOUR TEAM THAT WILL MANAGE ALL THESE RELATIONSHIPS. And yes, i know.....that is ALSO damn near impossible. But it helps this sound less overwhelming for you guys. FIND 4 OR 5 PEOPLE THAT WILL MANAGE YOUR RELATIONSHIPS. That's the key.
