As a Liverpool fan we have slowly been renovating Anfield it's taken 10 years to renovate half the stadium, no investment in the area, no investment in public transportation and personally I'm not all that amazed by the actual development I'd say with a land that Manchester United have you are far better Just building a new stadium right by the old one. You keep your area with an updated stadium. You can always make new memories.

Renovate things that is so old and out of date its not easy/cheap option. Based on the fact that the club stil can play at old trafford during process i think building a new bigger/better stadium is the right thing to do.
As an American who loves Manchester United and American Baseball (Boston Red Sox), I'll give you a perspective from the Western side of the Atlantic. Fenway Park in Boston seats 45,000 people. It is over 100 years old. It was built when the average size of men was 5 feet 2 inches with and average weight of 125 pounds. Hence, by today's standards, the seats are small, tight fitting and there's no leg room. New England weather is like Scotland - cold, damp, and windy. going to a game is not a very pleasant experience compared to new stadiums such as Yankee Stadium or Busch Stadium in St. Louis or any of the new enclosed stadiums. Yes, there's that romantic notion of preserving Fenway as if it were the Sistine Chapel. It is about as romantic as driving an old Model T Ford. There was a time when the last company to built horse carriages built the best carriages you've ever seen. But would you rather ride in that with no protection from rain, wind and cold, or ride in a Rolls Royce? St. Louis Cardinals built a brand new modern stadium right next to their 100 year old relic, a few years back. The transition went smoothly. MU has as loyal a fan base as the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox. MU could easily fill a new 100 seat stadium. That's a lot more revenue from every game than the current one. And looking into the future, MU DESERVES a newer modern stadium.
A new stadium is required. If Manchester United wants to remain at the forefront of global football, and attract global investment, sponsorship and events then a modern state of the art stadium will do just that. Better facilities for fans, modern technology, 5G, cables, WiFi, screens, AI technology, security, media suites, boxes, changing, businesses, offices, sponsorship boxes, VIP suites, restaurants, press rooms etc. Build a stadium that it fit to keep up with demand and expectations for the next 50+ years.
I want a new stadium too but I think you’re overestimating how popular a 120k seat stadium would be. Very few events would even be able to fill a stadium of that size and no one wants to perform in a half filled stadium. Only the biggest artists and one off events would even think of going there and the fact it’s in Manchester and not London - the capital where a lot more people live and they are therefore likely to earn more money there - also degrades the stadiums value as some event makers will choose Wembley over Manchester to host their event. Basically bigger is not always better for stadiums and just because you have a nice stadium, doesn’t always mean people will flock to use it, especially one up north when there are more famous and geographically beneficial locations.
Never been to Old Trafford but it's such a landmark in ppl's minds, I quite like the idea of upgrading, over and over again if needs be, rather than moving somewhere else...

Its also literally so cramped, I'm 6ft 2, its like being sat on a low budget airplane seat
Build a complete brand new stadium will be easier and have to the room to expand further in the future
NEW NEW NEW
Build the New Trafford
Build a new stadium AND create new memories.
Build a new 100:000 stadium 🏟️
100k but a stadium that this country has never seen before too. Dont want another bog standard stadium. Make us say wow. Maybe one side of the stadium can be open top like the nou camp? Make it high tier - lofty. I just want to be wowed and want to come back
@@Mohammed5iopen top stadium lol you've clearly never been to Manchester. No one has open top stadiums in England for a reason - it doesn't stop raining!!! And Manchester is the wettest area of England.
@@MajorMumwett Open top with a retractable roof? Want a stadium the country hasnt seen before. Even if one stand is open top would be amazing. I like how the sansiro is semi open top. Amazing stadium. Just dont want the bog standard stadium
@@Mohammed5i forget an open top stadium in England. It's never going to happen. United doesn't need any gimmicks for a new stadium. It needs one that looks good, has the largest capacity and is built to last for a very long time. That's all.
@@MajorMumwett Agree with all you said...but it can still have an open top roof? Somethig unique. A retractable roof that can be shut when it rains. I just want a new design that blows the whole country over. No one can come near us lol i like how the san siro is. They have stands that are lofty and semi open. It would be spectacluar
We Need to Compete with Real Madrid and Barça
I had a season ticket for years until illness forced me quit going, I live 24 miles from ground and to watch a 3pm KO I had to leave home at 11.30 and not get home till after 7. The traffic is horrendous so increasing it by another 25k would be a complete mare unless the transport infrastructure is upgraded around Manchester. I’m for it but 8 hrs door to door to watch a match of 2 hrs is a haul
Bittersweet decision, but I think we're due for a NEW stadium.
They should build the new stadium
It has to be a new stadium
The north? Does the country end at manchester?
It's Sir James not Sir Ratcliffe.
New stadium, I believe the money Sir Jim is looking to get from the government is for infrastructure investment around the stadium not the stadium it's self. Roads, trains, canal, bus services, maybe tax relief onto he project.
Nice
Revamp current stadium expanding it to 100000 capacity
new stadium from the ground up
Why show rats/mice in a cruel glue trap? Was going to sub as your content is good.
New 100,000 stadium
No public money should be given to this project.. Birmingham City owners are going to fund a 3 billion project on a new stadium without help so I'm sure Manchester United are able to fund there's
Share City’s stadium 😊
we should get a new stadium
