And they say music videos today are explicit.... Billy Idol, Hot in the city, hold my beer! Yep us people who were twenty summats in the 80's are smiling!
Yeah, Bitter Taste is a fantastic track...! As for the motorcycle accident, I believe that's why the Cradle of Love video shows him only from the waist up.
Blasphemy and Bondage! 🤣 that's right up Billy's street!! I'm with you on Flesh for Fantasy, my fave too. Your witty one-liners make me chuckle, never change! Mony Mony Live is epic!
re: Steve's hair, this was the "use the whole can of aqua net" era of pop rock. Catch Billy if he comes through your city, he still puts on a great show, his voice holds up, and there's Steve Stevens, age 64, still unloading the whole can into the hair.
I had honestly never seen that music video before (back in the day or recently on UA-cam). I remember a G-rated version of the music video with the woman in the record store. But I mostly loved the song just from hearing it on the radio. I can see why the video was banned on MTV and probably on NBC's "Friday Night Videos" show, too. LOL. My parents thought that paying for cable TV and MTV was a waster of money when you could get network TV and PBS stations and local shows for free. 🙂
Thanks so much dude for reminding me that my first celebrity crush was, in fact, Billy Idol. He is one fine, leather-wearin, sneering, platinum blonde fine male specemin. I was always so mezmorized by his appearence in these videos, that anything beyond that was unimportant.
One thing I appreciated with Billy is, despite the fact that alot of hardcore punkers say he sold out, is that he loved putting all these different flavors in his music. Like, even his album Cyberpunk is kinda mid for a lot of fans - I still appreciate the fact he made it. If the dude even likes a genre of music a little bit, he tries to include it in his own work. Also, dude has a real soft spot for club music and even put out an album of dance remixes of his biggest hits from various DJs he likes.
Oh I love it. It was constantly on my headphones back then, and I go back to it occasionally. But I'd say I put the earlier albums above "Cyberpunk", because: Classics. Cyberpunk didn't create any, imo. But the whole album's a vibe.@@jacobgriffin3579
I absolutely love the "Cradle of Love" video. Then again, Fincher directed it, so what's not to like! ;) I'm not concerned for the gentleman, cause I do believe he imagined the whole thing =)
Nice reaction. 👌 Here two live performance recommendations: don't need a gun - live in new york 2001 & eyes without a face - official live video at overdrive. Greetings from Germany 😊
How about ROXETTE .Duo became an international act in the late 1980s. They are from Sweden like ABBA. They have many hits, but most know is "It Must Have Been Love", featured on the soundtrack of Pretty Woman. Awsome songs like " Joyride", "The Look", " Dangerous" and many more. They were the top band before boysband boom
I accidentally said “Bitter Tears” instead of “Bitter Taste”… whoops! Guess I was thinking about INXS 😂
"Why did she have to ruin the fitted sheet?" is one of the funniest things I have ever heard.
Cradle of love was one of the first videos i ever watched on MTV as a young teenager 1000 year ago hahahaha, I love it.

Hot in the City was so risque back then.
😂😂You crack me up. The expressions are worth the entrance fee alone.
Blasphemy and Bondage should've been a Billy album title 😆
I just saw Billy Idol live in concert 2 weeks ago here in DC!!!

I never heard of Bitter Taste, but darn that was so good 👍
Its great
It's so good.

As for Steve's hair, Extra Super Hold Aqua Net... lots and lots of it. We're still repairing the hole in the ozone to this day.
😂
I'VE SEEN BILLY IDOL LIVE TWICE...NEVER DISAPPOINTS!!!😎😎😎🎸🎸🎸🎤🎤🎹🎹🎤🎤
I strongly recommend “Running From The Ghost” from Billy’s newest EP. It may be one of his heaviest rock instrumentals, and he sounds fantastic 👍
Billy idol , live in Chicago
Excelente concierto en 2009
Y otra cancion nueva es Cage
Every time I see Billy idol I think spike.

I’m so glad I was a teenager in the 80’s, seriously we had the best music
I love cradle of love and hot in the city . I also loving his new songs Bitter taste, rebel like you and running from the ghost
Good selection, for more "Flesh for Fantasy" I recommend you to listen to the remix-album "Vital Idol" (including "White Wedding Part 1 and 2")...
Cradle of Love was so off the hook and "Devon" is still probably tops all time cutest MTV video chick.

"MONY MONY" LIVE IS GREAT👍👍👍🎸🎸🎸❤
Hot In The City, just a regular night at Billy's place.
Hope you get to check out some of his songs from the Christmas album he did in 2006 😊🎅
The key to big hair in the 80’s was teasing and Aqua Net 😁

More Take That Live performance

I wonder what you'll think of his "Shock To The System" or other tracks from his "Cyberpunk" album. It certainly was of its time.
I may be of the minority, but I love the feeling and uniqueness of that album. Definitely in my top 3

Billy wrecked his bike and had a broken pelvis, that’s why the Cradle of Love video was filmed this way!
BILL IDOL COVERED A DOOR'S SONG,, "L.A. WOMAN" AND DID IT GREAT😎😎👍👍👍🎤🎤🎤
THE "MTV VIDEO ERA" WAS GREAT AND BANDS HAD TO GET CREATIVE...😎😎😎😎👍👍👍👍
Billy Idol got in a bad accident (can't recall if it was a car or motorcycle) He recouped, but lost time in performance❤❤❤
