Thanks Abby, your videos are excellent! Even though I'm a guy with a large wrist, I prefer smaller, lightweight watches, especially when it comes to workouts/exercise. Although the weight/size difference of these watches is not huge, every gram matters I suppose. Plus saving $100 for the Venu 2s vs the Venu 2 Plus is also nice!
As a senior citizen the added speaker can be a lifesaver. I leave my iphone all over the house and I frequently miss calls. So hopefully this will prevent my missed calls and more. My hubby just ordered me a Venu2s plus for Mother’s Day. I hope I love it
This video was very helpful. I couldn't decide between the two. I have a small wrist and seeing them both on your wrist really helped me decide on the Venu 2s since it won't look so huge on me.
Hey I just wanted to take a quick moment to thank you, because your reviews have helped me make the right choice in purchasing my next Garmin device. Appreciate all your hard work in doing a review, you covered everything i needed to know before making a purchase, please keep up the good work!!👍God bless...
Thanks, that was really helpful to see them both on your wrist. I also have a small wrist and wasn't sure, how the larger-sized 2 Plus would look like. I'm gonna go with 2s :)
I returned the venu 2 plus and I regret it . The Venu 2S only has vibration for alarms and timers which I use daily. That's a bummer and the screen is way too small for that price. It's smaller the the 6s and vivoactive 3. So I'm returning it and getting my bad boy back 🤣
It's good you got to try the Venu series and find out it's not the right fit for you, and try not to regret it too much you definitely returned the Venu 2 Plus for a reason. The Fenix 6S is a much more function packed and versatile watch in my opinion and, I personally prefer it's easy to read always on display to the AMOLED displays that have to be constantly awakened.. Yes get you bad boy back 😂.
@@karastover8963 Honestly with Garmin it's a gamble whether you get a black, blue or purple-ish tinted backlight. I've used many of Fenix watches (even 2 of the same colour and model) and found they all differ a bit so maybe your new one will be more black. And thank you 😊
Again lovely presentation 👏👏❤️. Few questions 1 When you are ready - can you pls do a comprehensive review with V2 + Using for Strength Training or weight training, Eg Apple has 100s apps to download for weight training and what's it like for Garmin etc, how quality is the built in weight training app 2 With AW, you can lift your hand and say Hey Siri, then Siri Siri comes alive 😀 With V2+ do we to press a button first and say Siri? Can you clarify that / or can we set up V2+ to when lift hand and say Siri to comes alive rather than pressing a button Thank you 🙏
Hello I am not planning on doing another Venu 2 Plus review currently but, I can tell you Garmin has an effective built-in strength exercise app that can be used to track strength/weight lifting activities (no need to download external apps), it can track the amount of reps, sets, time, heart rate and more during the exercise, and is accurate in my opinion. For the Venu 2 Plus you hold the middle button then talk once the mic icon pops up, no need to say Siri first. And I tried to wake it up with just my voice saying Hey Google and that does not work.
Hey ! Thanks for the comparison. I definitely hesitate between the Venu 2s, Venu 2 plus and Vivoactive 4s. Weird question here: what is your wrist circumference? I can’t find the 2 plus in store to test on my wrist, to get an idea.
Hi how does this compare with the fitbit sense or versa for the steps I just sent the samsunt Pro 5 back as was short each day by 2k minimum and been informed the samsung does this alot 🤔
Hi Victoria! I find the Garmin Venu 2 Plus and 2S comparable with Fitbit Sense all giving fairly accurate steps results in my experience. I did find the Versa 3 was a bit high for step tracking at times. While, the Versa 4 has been better with step tracking while I have been using it so far.
What commands can be done using the voice assistant? Can you ask watch to start a workout? Can you say hey google to activate the voice assistant or do you have to press a button to activate it?
Hi Sarah, you can use the voice assistant to do various things such as setting an alarm, asking about the weather, responding to a text message etc. And it would be faster to just press the start button and click on a workout to start it in my opinion, instead of holding on the voice assistant button and asking it to do that. And yes you do have the press the button to activate the voice assistant, it doesn't activate by saying Hey Google at this time.
Great video! Thank you! I'm thinking about to change my Galaxy Watch4 to Venu2 Plus or Fitbit Sense... I hate very short battery life, but I like the smart features of Galaxy Watch4.
I have the venu plus 2 and the voice assistant doesn't work all the time . Thinking I really don't need it and was going to return it and get the venu 2s
Hi Kara, I've noticed that too, for me it works around 70% of the time, and can be annoying when it doesn't work. If you don't need those functions I'd definitely go with the Venu 2S, and it's been going on sale more frequently which is nice.
Hi, I just tried the Venu 2s and felt it’s too small and I also tried the Venu 2 plus and feels slightly too big. Would the Venu 2 be an in between size?
Hi Sandra! The Venu 2 is actually 2mm larger than the Venu 2 Plus so its larger not an in between size. Sorry for the incorrect info before, I misread and thought you said Venu (which is slightly smaller) not Venu 2.
@@sandrak6855 Yes I definitely agree, it's more for men as they usually have larger wrists. I do prefer the Venu 2S of the 3, I also find the Venu 2 Plus slightly big on me.
Thank you very much. I was looking for reviews about these watches and it's just what I needed. However, I didn't hear any explanation about text messages. Can we answer to text messages directly on the watch?
HI Abby, I have vivoactive and just died (after 5 year) I really liked it. its time to look for a new one .Like you said I don't need voice functionally but what I really want, its be able to answer a call and listen with my headphones. When I am in my bike I can press a button but I don't want to stop and reach out for my phone. Does venus 2s has the option to answer a call or I need to get the Venus 2 plus?
Hi Judit Tang, the Venu 2S does not have that option. You'd need the Venu 2 Plus for Bluetooth calling. Alternatively, you could do Bluetooth calls with headphones using your phone, as your phone has to be with you for any watch calling functionality.
Thank you so much for your review. I have a Vivoactive 4s and it just bit the dust. I'm in the market for a new watch and I prefer to stay with Garmin as Connect has all my info stored. I also love that it's waterproof and has good battery life compared to the Pixel watch. Venu looked like the next step in similarities but an upgrade from my Vivoactive 4s but I couldn't decide between the two Venus. Thank you for your review. Even though I would love the speaker, I'm going to go with the 2s as the size will be similar to my Vivoactive 4s. Again this was very very helpful! Thank you!
Hi Beatriz! They both work great in the pool, both are completely water resistant up to 5 meters so no issues swimming. They also have underwater wrist based heart rate sensors, so you can get yout heart rate data while swimming (just make sure the band is on tight enough), and can track various swim metrics like distance, pace, stroke count, calories burned and stroke type detection.

Hi, I personally find the Venu 2 Plus too large on my wrist (and would have liked a smaller version for women like the Venu 2S is smaller than the Venu 2), of course this is my opinion and others may agree or disagree. Also men and women may feel differently depending on thier respective wrist sizes and preferences. Whether a watch is too big or small is personally subjective to the one wearing it. If the Fenix 7S feels bigger to you that is your opinion which is completely fine.
