This charge pipe from FTP motorsports will not only improve flow over stock but also make a big improvement in the reliability column.
The FTP Intake Pipe replaces the factory hose between the air filter and turbo and that will not expand under boost. The system eliminates the OEM sound chamber which results in increased turbo response as well as mid-range and top-end power.

The factory charge pipe is made from plastic to reduce weight and manufacturing costs. While this is great for the production line and the sticker price, it doesn't hold up well as the engine ages or in the case of increased power.
Replacing the weak plastic stock part with a solid aluminum one like this will ensure proper functionality under higher levels of boost and eliminate wear caused by the heating and cooling of plastic pipes.

The install on a 2022 is a little different and found a couple things that make it easier. There is a wire clipped to the back of the factory intake tube that needs to be removed and removing the front half of the clamp that holds a 3 way valve makes it a lot easier to twist the charge pipe out.

The plastic panel at the front of the car below the intake is perfect for a induction pipe to run into an aftermarket airbox with a round filter element similar to the GT350.
The german plug in piggyback ECU's are available.

This is a great upgrade since plastic heats an warps...but aluminum dissipates heat way more effectively. If you are curious think of aluminum foil (yes I know it’s thinner an for cooking) when you cook something say in a toaster oven or a standard oven on a tray or cookie sheet....the aluminum foil is able to be picked up and removed easy vs the pan which is 400+ degrees. Cooler charge pipe will = efficiency and reliability with the bungs to upgrade to meth or nitrous later.
what's the purpose of the rubber coupler on the charge pipe? I assume it's designed to blow off incase of failure? like why is not one solid piece like the stock one.

Great video...appreciate having an install tutorial after purchasing your products. I received and installed the intake and charge pipe a couple of weeks ago. Any good aftermarket cold air intake filters you can recommend that would fit on this intake pipe? Have also installed verus aftermarket heat shield and resonator delete so plenty of room and heat soak should not be an issue.

Just be careful, somehow the breather tube hose snapped when I followed these instructions. I would recommend removing that with the T-27. I’m looking for the part now and will be out of commission until I get it.

Who and why would you replace the charge pipes with a stock airbox especially since replacing the stock airbox is one of the easisest and most effective mods?

Just installed it. But the engine cover is too close if not touching the charge pipe. Wont that create an issue with heat of charge pipe? Or it’s not touching it ?

That all depends - if your concerned , please check with your local dealer, each dealer could handle it differently

Angel A we have not tested all the intakes. Some of them come with intake piping already so the intake pipe shown here would not be needed

They aren't necessarily a hp gain with out tuning its more of ascetics and reliability. but yes our car is currently on just stock ecu and runs great. Thanks for the support with the channel make sure you have the bell rung so you are notified when videos go live!

Where is the intercooler of the new supra?
It’s built in to the engine
Intake is on the driver's side. An air-to-water intercooler is inside the intake manifold there.
Wondering how the hell do you take off the piece on the doors that can be replaced into carbon fiber ?

@@MrPWhuOfficial plastic pry bars and I would have to ask our wrap guys but I think the door panel may need to come off.... look up Summit lab on youtube Clayton and Faith wrapped James supra and they respond really quick if I find an answer I will let you know.

"Plastic breaks" When, 30 years from now? My turbo Subaru is 17 years old and its plastic intake has had 0 problems.
