I am a new player going through the US CA and DD lines and was crossing my fingers that you'd pick up the series when you left off, so happy that you did! Your Nicholas and Farragut vids helped me out so much.
Great advice! I’m learning not to rush to cap. Let the other team start to cap and get spotted first. Using islands to your advantage. I love the guns on it. Good fire starter. Thanks for the video Sea Raptor! o7
Thank you very much for this series of interesting videos about american dd line. I just continuing with Mahan and planning to go up the line further. I think the videos will help me a lot with the right mind set to play this dds.
Thanks for the video. I'm very new to the game and Fletcher is my most played ship. I really like playing it.... I'm just not very good yet but it's still a blast to play Subscribed
Another excellent USN dd video, Raptor. Thank you very much. Been playing this ship for 4+ years. My one suggestion is that in competitive play, consider RPF (Radio Location for you newer players) as a 4-pt Captain's skill. It helps you to avoid the T9 dds that can wreck you early and provides even more info for your Team beyond your spotting.
There's nothing wrong with investing in RPF if you are getting value out of those points. For me - and this is going to sound elitist and snobby, but I can't think of a better way to say it - I view RPF as a bit of a crutch. 80+% of the time, figuring out where opposing DDs are isn't terribly difficult, especially in Domination or Arms Race games. So while I understand the value of the skill, I would rather fit my boat out to be more capable when I finally do run into other destroyers because I tend to have a pretty good idea to find them much of the time already.
@@SeaRaptor Destroyer KuroshioKai agrees with you. The thing with both of you is that you've both played enough dds games that you can anticipate when and where the dds will come on most maps. While I am definitely getting better at that skill, I still get surprised sometimes. So, while I agree it is a crutch, I'm not quite ready to give it up in competitive play. Randoms is different. And yea, Arms Race is easy to anticipate as well.
Thanks for what you doing Searaptor. These opinions and informations have great value. What would be your personal DD pick for clan battles this season btw?
Hey SeaRaptor do you think you didn't get a dev strike on that GK because of the buffs? Maybe he took damage earlier and heald a lot back so it didn't count towards his original HP??
Searaptor, love your content, and this is a great tutorial as are your other ones. The USS Fletcher is one of my favorite WW2 ships, and I'm grinding the US destroyer line just so I can sail it in game. Had a 3' long scale model of it that was radio-controlled. Edit: Also, your UI/reticle/shell paths look different than mine - how do you set that up?
I use Static Crosshair #10 out of the base game. In the "controls" tab of the settings, hit the "select crosshair" button and you can pick from a list.
I like the passion you put in this review, as a lover of the Fletcher class destroyers I have all of them, kinda waiting for an Argentinian version of it like an ARA Rosales or ARA Espora the into the game, my fav right now is of course the USS Kidd, I just love that ship. Kind regards.
Aside from battleship Leningrad, and the Omaha, best ship in the game. Seriously, Fletcher is THEE ship that has survived the power creep with flying colors.
Hilariously, I get this question a lot on stream. =D Back "in the day" you could earn flags for certain achievements, and for probably my first 2-3 years of playing the game I only ever spent flags in ranked. So I had a whole, whole lot of them built up before I ever started using them. When they added the daily container system, I also used to routinely get flag containers - before coal containers came along - and I would accrue them faster than I could spend them even by playing randoms.
Being outdetected by a panasian DD isn't the worst thing since they only juuuuust sneak by, and lack any meaningful torpedo threat to a DD anyway. I play a good amount of panasian DD, and while i enjoy great concealment, i find it can be double edged since if i run into a nearly as well concealed ship with better guns, i can be forced to smoke and run and have hardly any recourse besides that. IMO, that puts Fletcher on par even if the numbers are different. A good player could use that to bait and setup an opportunity to outplay the asian boat once the smoke is down.
I found Fletcher more fun than gearing. The current meta is so bad that playing t10 destroyers against CV, super CV and subs is too much of a work. In fletcher you tend to get t7 mm so in between bad games there are some good moments too
I haven't played stock Fletcher in more than 7 years, so I'll have to take your word on this one. My gut wants to disagree, but I'd want to try it to find out.
Just picked up the Fletcher...thanks to your video, I LOVE HER!
You're welcome, glad it helped!

You're welcome! I'm sorry they've been so slow to finish; I think I can guarantee that Gearing will come along much quicker than the last.
Just watched this and re-specced my fletcher for torps. What an amazing difference. THANKS!!!

Thanks for this. Great lessons on how to play American DDs in general and the Fletcher in particular.
Glad it was helpful!

@@wildlifeman6365 I think in CBs the skill is amazing, and in ranked and such you get a ton of value. Ibam mostly talking about randoms.
Great video Raptor, thx for this.
8 years in and Fletcher still dances like ballerina and her torps hit like a truck. Nevertheless, a heal would be nice. 2 small heals for example.
An other great video, keep them comming. you improve my skills..
Excellent video. Many items to think about. What cruiser line and BB line do you play. Do either of those.
Thanks for what you doing Searaptor. These opinions and informations have great value. What would be your personal DD pick for clan battles this season btw?
Hard to say, I haven't touched CB in years. I'd have to do some research.

Hmm, I hadn't considered that. Maybe they have tweaks or stuff implemented for achievements in Arms Race?

Hi, I know this is an older video, but how do you have so many flags?

My next DD line🤩🤩🤩
Do the American heavy cruiser line and the light cruiser line
My vote is for British Heavy Cruisers next. They are somewhat unique and challenging to play. I am constantly surprised by them.
I think I'm just going to work through all the heavy cruiser lines in general: IJN, USN, RN, etc.
Destroyers were called "Tincans" for a reason. Speed, Maneuverability, Armor, pick 2 of the 3.
IJN light cruisers please!
Just purchased her not even 15 minutes ago

An upgraded benson is 10x better than a bone stock fletcher
