      My CA Cupid bangs wants to part like Moses parted the sea.
      I’ve had to use hair gel and got it flat with a bobby pin just to it to look decent and it still splits
      Debating on using straight up glue but I know it isn’t a good idea

      @@xCanadensis oh my God please tell you a story that made me angry so basically we have a thrift store near us and they have a bunch of nice and box dolls for like $25. I found one Barbie doll in the box. She had a beautiful outfit for nine dollars and she was the collector of 1998/50 anniversary she was beautiful but I don’t know why they do this. Her box was like so wonky. I had to use that is eye-catching and it makes me so angry because the right half box and the side middle part are not attached to the box so you can literally stick your finger through it and it makes me so angry because now it blocks half of the box

    The Slip dress makes it easier to put on and off on the dolls and you don't use much fabric.
    Considering that many of these dolls were considered playline, it does make sense.
    BUT it's annoying to have so many in a doll line that is considered a FASHION doll line.
    BUT now we have a different problem- MERMAID DRESS, IDK why they keep pushing this dress cut(that is a longer Slip dress with ruffles) and it's annoying because they are using on expensive dolls.
    Another problem that I have with old MH dolls are loose joints, it's so easy to lose a hand or a full on arm.

    • @xCanadensis
      @xCanadensis  2 місяці тому +3

      Most dolls don’t use glue at all or burn/weave the hair in place. Mattel decided to use glue for like ten years for seemingly no reason as it benefited nothing. Fabri tac is a consumer glue brand that is not known to seep and it not what they use

      That's so illogical of Mattel imo 🙈 It'd have made more sense for them to either stick to the glue free, other methods of keeping doll's hair in place OR they should've used a glue that doesn't seep 😩 Surely they have the funds to use quality products 🫠😅

    @CallMeKatMeow13 Місяць тому +1

    It’s interesting to see how many have issues. I’ve owned mine for many years and only a handful have these issues out of the 400 so I own.
    I think it can come down to how you care for the dolls, I used to play with mine all the time but, they are all in great condition.
    I have at max 4 that have light glue seepage that isn’t awful, elastics that are only loose on 1 doll and idk how many eye wonks maybe 10 at most.
    I think if a doll is 2nd hand u are more likely to run into these issues but being able to pick them in stores at the time or carefully choosing 2nd hand to get MIB or from a collector loose can really benefit the collection.

    • @xCanadensis
      @xCanadensis  Місяць тому +4

      Mmm… no! I have NIB dolls that I personally kept from 2013 that have glue seepage. Look closely on eBay and you’ll see the same issue. Mine are in great condition, they just are made out of terrible materials and have stupid things like the glue. You probably live in a climate that doesn’t exasperate it if it’s not that you simply don’t notice.
      I have 4000 dolls (or more, haven’t really counted) and all of them were either bought and unboxed personally by me or thrifted. NONE have been as problematic and poor quality as generation 1 of monster high - including dolls from the 1960’s (all of which were thrifted).
      About half of my MH collection was purchased direct from the store when I was a teenager and I did not play with them in any unreasonable way. They’re just not made of good materials. It’s really just luck with MH and EAH because some just didn’t have the glue while others did. I remember being confused by the loose elastics vividly when I got my signature operetta for my thirteenth birthday. These were my favorite for years and the reason I started collecting dolls… but they truly are not good quality and it sucks. Terrible materials, boring, lazy silhouettes, eye wonk far too common, bad paint quality across the board, disgusting goop coming out of their heads and ruining their packaging, clothing and vinyl… just foul. Love them a lot but I’m not gonna sit here and pretend they are perfect
